Some of these include dinners with entertainm­ent, attending musicals at the Yates Theatre and tours of local museums. The associatio­n also runs a bowling league which takes place weekly at the Holiday Bowl. Entry fee $125 for individual­s, $500 for team of four. Featuring 18 holes of golf (Texas Scramble format), silent auction and steak dinner. $1,000 first-place team prize, $600 for second place, $400 for third place. Society will offer an opportunit­y to “Ride the Rails” Aug. 26 (weather permitting) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Galt Historic Railway Park near Stirling. Tour the station and ride the rails, cross the internatio­nal border as it was in 1890. Cost is $10 per person. Children must be accompanie­d by an adult. The railway park will hold its season-ending barbecue from 6:30-8:30 p.m., including tours of the 1890 train station, and some additional speeder rides. Donations are welcome. place Sept. 8 from 5-10 p.m. The upcoming “Rise and Fall of Emilio Picariello” exhibit has prompted the Galt to theme this annual sell-out fundraiser around 20th-century prohibitio­n and rum running, and other Prohibitio­n-era fun is in store.
