Frank Leffingwel­l Memorial Shoot produces repeat winner

The 17th annual Frank Leffingwel­l Memorial Shoot wrapped up last Saturday with a repeat winner.

Taking home the Frank Leffingwel­l Memorial trophy for the sixth time was Lethbridge’s Dean Weger, who topped a field of 11 competitor­s in the Hunter division with a score of 137-2X.

Weger also placed third in the Open Class with a score of 147-4X.

Lee Hall of Blackie was second in the Hunter Division with a score of 134-1X and Calgary’s Devon Veysey rounded out the top three with a score of 127-1X.

Cameron Kirk of Monarch was fourth (125-1X) and Lethbridge’s Doug Balla took home fifth place (123).

Lethbridge’s Dave Fisher was first in the Open division with a score of 149-4X, while Kyle Weger was second with a total of 148-2X.

Lee Hall of Blackie (146-3X) and Yvan Lejeune (144-3X) of High River took fourth and fifth place, respective­ly, in the Open Division.

In the Modified category Drumheller’s Travis Hardy took top spot with a score of 1452X and Lejeune took second with a total of 139-1X.

Placing third was Medicine Hat’s Kane Brandt (139-1X). Jason Hall of Blackie was fourth (139) and Al Albers of Lethbridge took fifth with a score of 137-1X.

In the Youth Class, Kyle Weger earned first with a score of 121-1X.

The rest of the top-five in the Youth Class were all from Lethbridge as Hunter Weger (110) took second, Shayna Jansma (104) placed third, John Winchester (77) took fourth and Rylee Sturgeon (71) took fifth.

A total of 25 shooters took part in the one-day shoot in 39 events.
