A second man, Rueben Cody Smith, 35, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He appeared in court Wednesday, and his matter was adjourned to Sept. 12 for a possible bail hearing.

At about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 police responded to a 911 call of an assault at an apartment building in the 1400 block of Ashgrove Road South where a group of people were involved in a dispute. The dispute escalated to a physical altercation, and when police arrived they found two 20-year-old men with stab wounds. The victims were transported to Chinook Regional Hospital where one of the men remained while the other was transferred to Calgary.
