• Lethbridge Duplicate Bridge Club will be starting a new season of bridge classes. For those interested in “Defence,” classes will begin Monday, Sept. 11 and run until Monday, Nov. 27 (no class Oct. 9 - Thanksgivi­ng). For those who wish to continue with or attend “Bidding and Play,” classes will begin Tuesday, Sept. 12 and continue until Nov. 28, with no classes Oct. 3 or Nov. 7. The club will be starting “Introducti­on to Bridge” classes for those real beginners who have never played bridge, or maybe even cards. This will be a series of six classes beginning Tuesday, Sept 12 and ending Oct. 17 (no class Oct. 3). If you know of anyone who would like to learn the game, please let them know. • Pedal for Polio Bicycle Ride, sponsored by Raymond Rotary, will take place Sept. 16, featuring four ride stages — 1. Family/Group Ride: 20 km to Welling and back to Raymond; 2. Junior Distance: 80 km to McIntyre Ranch and back to Raymond; 3. Senior Distance: 130 km to Del Bonita and back to Raymond; 4. Continued Ride: 176 km through Del Bonita to Cardston and back to Raymond. Entry fee: $50 per rider (riders donating $1,000 in pledges will have their entry fee waived).
