Kodiaks face SAIT today

COLLEGE SOCCER TEAMS RETURN HOME SUNDAY TO HOST OLDS

- LETHBRIDGE HERALD

As they reach the midway point of the season, the Lethbridge College Kodiaks mens’ and womens’ soccer teams hit the road today before returning home Sunday.

The Kodiaks are in Calgary today to take on the SAIT Trojans during Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference play and hit the Servus Sports Centre Sunday when the Olds College Broncos pay a visit.

The Kodiaks men (2-1-0) are coming off a controversial, last second 2-1 loss to the Medicine Hat College Rattlers last week that dropped them to third place in the ACAC South Division. That loss cost them a spot in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association national rankings after being ranked 11th after Week 1.

This weekend, they will face an undefeated team and another team looking for their first win of the season.

The undefeated opponent is the first on the slate as the Kodiaks clash with the 3-0-0 Trojans before the 0-3 Broncos come to town Sunday.

The Kodiaks women are 11-1 heading into the weekend and in third place in the South Division.

Like the men, the Kodaks women will contend with an undefeated Trojans team (3-00) today.

On Sunday, they’ll face a Broncos team that is also 1-11 heading into Week 3 of ACAC play.

Vicki Noronha leads the Kodiaks with three goals through three games.

Game time on both days is noon for the women’s game and 2 p.m. for the men.

Admission is free to Sunday’s games at the Servus Sports Centre field
