MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

Ron Weasley was a recent medical transfer from Medicine Hat. His leg was badly broken and after a consultation with Dr. Lloyd at Green Acres Animal Hospital it was decided that amputation was the best option. The surgery went very well and Ron Weasley is such a little trooper. We would like to thank everyone at Green Acres for the wonderful care they gave this sweet baby. Call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information about Ron Weasley. We are also on Facebook. We are in desperate need of donations to help with our high vet bill at Green Acres Animal Hospital. No amount is too small. Our two kittens, Charlie and Taz along with Tonka, are up for adoption at Petland. Thank you to Allan and his staff for their continued support.

They’re not quite “The Odd Couple,” but they are a contrast to each other. Noah, a three-year-old black and brown tabby, loves the rough and tumble of play; he has energy to spare and will have fun with anything from a fuzzy toy-mouse to a crumpled ball of paper. Spottie, a greyand-white boy, going on six, is quieter, a little apprehensive of other cats initially but quickly loving toward humans. Noah will sleep with his people sometimes, then take himself off for a snooze by himself. Spottie prefers to be on the bed, spending the night-time there. These two are becoming pals, the hither-andthither Noah, always something on the go, and the more sedate but still fun-loving Spottie. Friendship starts with common ground: both of these boys love their humans, each in his own way. Noah isn’t quite a lap-cat, but purrs for attention nonetheless; Spottie likes his cuddling, and melting into his people’s arms when held. The boys don’t have to be adopted together, but if they were, it’d be all right with them. Care to choose in person? Call the PAW Society at 403-328-6700, or send an online inquiry at www.pawsociety.com. Together or separate, you’ll find something to adore about both Noah and Spottie.

Vincent is new to the Humane Society, and his goal is to thoroughly explore and investigate every square centimetre of the cat room. He’s a little skittish and doesn’t get close to the other cats. but he certainly checks everything out! Vincent was born in 2014. He is a quiet, gentle cat, but still nervous.

If you are interested in meeting Vincent, you can visit him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). The Last Chance Cat Ranch has many cats and kittens waiting for their forever homes. Please visit us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch or our website at

www.thelastchancecatranch.com to view adoptable cats and read more about what we do.Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts. Shimmer would like to invite you to apply to become a volunteer for LCCR and you could meet her, and perhaps consider taking her home. She is a very healthy and friendly girl who would make a fine addition to the home of someone who appreciates cats who glow and sparkle with enthusiasm.

Now that autumn is here, with cooler weather on its way, we encourage everyone to help homeless cats in our community by voting at our municipal election for candidates who support animal welfare and neuterspay clinics for homeless cats. Shimmer thinks this is a great idea as it would help her friends who are out there with nobody to look after them. If we do not advocate for these homeless cats, who will?
