BULLETIN BOARD SERVICE The religious community’s bulletin board of activities appears each Saturday in The Herald.

• McKillop United Church Annual Fall Fair will take place Oct. 14 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at 2329 15 Ave. S., featuring a garage sale as well as used books, used toys, homemade baking, freshly made fruit-crisp and take-home pizza. A Kids Fun Fair starts at 10 a.m. with a balloon artist, face painting, craft, games and cotton candy. Food concession will serve popcorn, hot dogs, and pop. Or come to Trevor’s Breakfast hosted by Reverend Trevor Potter; the breakfast is by donation and will run from 8-10 a.m. A Country Luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m.1 p.m. (by donation).

• Six O’clock in the Chapel, an evening Vesper service with beautiful music, will be held Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. in Buchanan Chapel at Southminst­er United Church, featuring reflection­s by Rev. James Grunden; musical guest is Monica Baczuk, flute. This brief and intimate service is open to everyone. Please enter at the chapel doors, 1011 4 Ave. S.

• Contemplat­io will take place Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Martha Retreat Centre, featuring ecumenical, meditative, multilingu­al, musical devotion, based on the music and style of the French ecumenical religious community of Taizé, a world-renowned centre of pilgrimage and prayer. The group meets September through June on the third Sunday of each month. All are invited and welcome. • Southminst­er United Church’s next monthly labyrinth events will take place

Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m., led by Veriditas certified facilitato­r Nancy Fabro. A handout on labyrinth terminolog­y to help understand the basics about labyrinths will be provided; followed by a meditative walk. • All women are invited to a brunch and program Oct. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at Luigi’s Banquet Room. • Oasis Day, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Martha Retreat Centre. This is an opportunit­y to be, to rest, and to be with your God as you ponder the many lessons the season of autumn offers a person. • Introducto­ry Workshop on Centering Prayer will be offered at Martha Retreat Centre, Oct. 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This Christian Prayer form is a way of letting go, and growing in the ability to wait upon and rest in God’s presence. • Immanuel Lutheran Church, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd. W., will host a public screening of the full-length dramatic film “Martin Luther: The Idea that Changed the World,” Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. in celebratio­n of the 500th anniversar­y of the Reformatio­n. Everyone welcome. The congregati­on will also be observing the 500th anniversar­y with a special celebratio­n event Oct. 29 at 2:30 p.m. You, your family and friends and community members are invited to attend. Special guests for this event are the University of Lethbridge Choir. Please note there will only be one morning service on Oct. 29 at 11 a.m.

• St. Ambrose Catholic Women’s League will host a Turkey Supper Oct. 22 from 4-6 p.m. at St. Joseph School, 1413 23 Ave., Coaldale. Adults and takeout: $15; 6-10 years: $7. 50/50 tickets $1. Everyone welcome.

• Bridge City Bells is a community choir whose members ring English hand bells. The choir meets Mondays at First Baptist Church (17 Street and 5 Avenue South) from 1:15-2:45 p.m. They are in need of a few new ringers; no experience or musical background is necessary and all are welcome to join. • Picture Butte Trinity United Church will host a Barbecue Beef Supper Oct. 29 5-7 p.m. at the Elks Hall, 112 4 St. S. in Picture Butte. Adults and takeouts: $15; 610 years: $7. Everyone welcome.

• A free clothing drive will be held Nov. 18 from 10 a.m.-noon at Park Meadows Baptist Church, 2011 15 Ave. N. Open to all. Gently used clothing, shoes, bedding, toys and books will be accepted for donation Oct. 16-Nov. 16.

• St. Basil’s Tea and Bake Sale will take place Nov. 4 from 2-4 p.m. at 604 13 St. N. Admission $5. Everyone welcome; bring a friend.

• Gospel Messengers Choir is looking for singers who want to make an impact, enjoy great fellowship and enjoy singing hymns in local seniors homes, the jail and the hospital. • The MCC Thrift Shop, across the street from Save-On Foods. Proceeds from the store go to support poverty reduction projects around the world through Mennonite Central Committee.
