him.”

Lethbridge opened up their halftime lead thanks to a pair of tries from Brittany Orr and one each from Sarah Gordon and Hannah Lopez.

The teams swapped tries in the second half as Gordon ran for her second of the afternoon and Orr completed her hat trick bid to round out the scoring for the win that packs the Horns bags to Calgary next weekend.

“I think it’s an awesome time, obviously it’s great to see all the hard work pay off,” said Orr.

The Pronghorns depth proved key in the second half, said Langevin.

“We have a good bench, so I was pretty comfortable in the last 10 minutes. The U of A played tactically very well in the second half, pinning us deep twice on two big kicks and they scored off of those. But our fitness and our depth really shone through at the end.”

The Pronghorns will have to wait for the result from the final regular season game between the Calgary Dinos and Victoria Vikes to see who they will face in the Canada West semifinal Friday.

“We’re really ecstatic, we’re going to finish third,” said Langevin. “We’re not backing down now. We’re looking to win that semifinal and to get to the Canada West Championship, that’s our goal now. We have a couple injuries today, but we’ll rest really quick and regroup next weekend.”

Following the game and trophy presentation, the Pronghorns gathered for a team photo — along with Suggitt’s family — at the grass field at the U of L Stadium, now named Suggitt Field.
