Stringam LLP takes top honours at chamber business awards

More than 100 nomination­s were received, so Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce judges faced a difficult task.

But one Lethbridge-based firm was named Business of the Year, while 12 more awards went to companies, organizati­ons or individual­s this week.

Stringam LLP, a local law firm that’s grown to serve all of Alberta, was named this year’s top business. A crowd of about 400 members and guests attended the awards presentati­ons, hosted by the chamber and the Business Developmen­t Bank of Canada.

This year’s Aboriginal Opportunit­ies Award was presented to Triple M Housing for its employment practices. The Business Ethics Award went to Shaw & Associates, Chartered Accountant­s.

The Business Leadership Award was won by Davis GMC Buick, the Business Legacy Award by the YMCA of Lethbridge.

Brio Salon Spa was presented the Environmen­tal Stewardshi­p Award, while Northside Lethbridge Dodge earned the Excellence in Customer Service Award.

For the Innovation and Advancemen­t Award, the judges selected Carefree Kitchens and Lighting. For New Business of the Year, they chose Distilled Liquor Co.

This year’s Outstandin­g Employer Award was presented to the Plum Restaurant; the People’s Choice Award went to Kinetic Indoor Cycle and Fitness.

Prime Catering was named winner of the Spirit of Lethbridge Award. And Oktoberfes­t comanager Roy Pogorzelsk­i was overall winner of the “Top 40 Under 40” competitio­n.
