LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATI­ON - MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS

Meals on Wheels drivers are

urgently needed. These volunteers fulfill the hugely important role of ensuring that those who are homebound (often elderly, in some cases adults recovering from surgery) have access to tasty, nutritious meals. Drivers should be available for one regular weekday shift (all deliveries take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday to Friday). Volunteers in this role should enjoy working with seniors and adults with physical disabiliti­es, be dependable and punctual, exhibit warmth, have a caring attitude, be trustworth­y, tolerant and non-judgmental. GALT MUSEUM & ARCHIVES – HALLOWE’EN SPOOKTACUL­AR

Galt Museum is looking for volunteers to help with their Hallowe’en Spooktacul­ar, a free community day on Oct. 28 from 12:30 p.m. to about 5 p.m. Positions include greeters, pumpkin decorators, skull sugar cookie decorators, serving popcorn, punch or caramel apples, crafts, building tours/ghost stories, supervisor in exhibit area, photograph­ers/floater and games. A training session is available in advance to those interested in doing building tours. Volunteers are encouraged, but not required, to wear family-friendly Hallowe’en costumes. FAMILY CENTRE SOCIETY - BOO BASH EVENT ASSISTANTS

On Saturday, Oct. 28, Family Centre will be hosting their annual Boo Bash and are looking for volunteers to assist with several event-related

areas. This family fun Halloween event takes place at Lethbridge Exhibition Park West Pavilion and volunteers are encouraged, but not required, to dress in family appropriat­e, non-violent costumes. Volunteer shifts are 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in a variety of roles. DOWNTOWN LETHBRIDGE BRZ – BRIGHT LIGHTS FESTIVAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS

This year Downtown Lethbridge BRZ Bright Lights Festival is Friday, Nov. 17 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 18 12 p.m.–4 p.m. This is a familyfrie­ndly free event for all the ages to help kick off the holiday shopping season. Many of the BRZ stores will be open late and have their own promos going on during the festival. Several volunteers are required for the two-day festival and some duties would include assisting with hot beverages, popcorn, Santa, sleigh rides, movies in the park and much much more! VOLUNTEER LETHBRIDGE – HOLIDAY GIFT WRAPPER OR CASHIER

From Nov. 20 to Dec. 24, Volunteer Lethbridge will be providing Gift Wrapping Services at Park Place Shopping Centre. This program hopes to increase holiday happiness by taking out the tedious task of gift wrapping for shoppers by providing this service and the proceeds go to a great cause. The kiosk is open during the mall’s holiday hours and scheduling is flexible. Shifts vary from 3-7 hours and depend on volunteer availabili­ty but a commitment to the shift is essential for team success. Volunteer opportunit­ies include wrapping gifts in a profession­al manner, customer service, cashier and coat/parcel check. From Nov. 2-5, Lethbridge will host the Skate Canada Alberta NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championsh­ips and volunteers are required to fill a variety of roles: Set-Up/Take-Down, Registrati­on, Medal Presenters, Ice Captain, Announcer, Music Player, Security, Raffle Table Attendant, Hospitalit­y, Ice Patchers, Kiss and Cry Attendants, Transporta­tion and Medical.
