Seattle Thunderbirds 6:00pm

Canes vs. Thunderbirds:

The Lethbridge Hurricanes welcome the Seattle Thunderbirds tonight at 6:00pm at the ENMAX Centre. Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the ‘Canes and T-birds, so don’t miss it!

Final For A While:

Tonight will be Dylan Cozens’ final game for the Hurricanes for a couple of weeks. The all-star 16year-old is having a tremendous season thus far, however, the ‘Canes will be missing him for the next five games as he, along with ‘Canes coaches Jeff Hansen and Andrew Doty, will be heading to the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge to compete for Canada.

Time to Step Up:

With the departure of Cozens’ point-per-game play, that breeds opportunity for other players to have to step up and fill the void offensively. Expect that Tanner Nagel, Josh Tarzwell or Egor Zudilov will be moved up the lineup with the expectation to produce with Cozens’ absence.

Lone Visit:

Tonight is the only visit the Thunderbirds will make to Lethbridge this season and their first since November 6th/2015. That night, the ‘Canes earned a 5-2 victory over Seattle with Cory Millette, Ryley Lindgren, Kord Pankewicz and Carter Folk all registering multiple point games.

Defending Champs:

The Thunderbirds are coming off their first ever WHL Championship last year after beating the Regina Pats in the WHL Final. The T-birds didn’t fair very well at the MasterCard Memorial Cup, however, as they placed fourth in the four-team tournament.

New Faces:

There are a lot of new faces for the T-birds after a lot of players moved on. Gone are the likes of Mathew Barzal, Ryan Gropp, Ethan Bear, Scott Eansor, Alexander True and Keegan Kolesar. As well, their longtime head coach Steve Konowalchuk moved on to the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL.

Next Home Game:

The Hurricanes will be back at the ENMAX Centre on Wednesday, November 1st when they welcome the Saskatoon Blades at 7:00pm. Tickets are available online, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or by visiting the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre.
