MADD CANADA LETHBRIDE – EVENT & SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS MADD Lethbridge is looking for volunteers to assist with upcoming events and fundraisers in the
community, like Project Red Ribbon and Campaign 911. An information session is scheduled for Nov. 1 6:30 p.m. at Chinook Country Tourist Association. MADD Canada Lethbridge also offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities for people who want to join in the fight to end impaired driving and support victims and survivors. LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATION - MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS
Meals on Wheels drivers are
urgently needed. These volunteers fulfill the hugely important role of ensuring that those who are homebound (often elderly, in some cases adults recovering from surgery) have access to tasty, nutritious meals. Drivers should be available for one regular weekday shift (all deliveries take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday to Friday). Volunteers in this role should enjoy working with seniors and adults with physical disabilities, be dependable and punctual, exhibit warmth, have a caring attitude, be trustworthy, tolerant and non-judgmental. BRIGHT LIGHTS FESTIVAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS
This year Downtown Lethbridge BRZ Bright Lights Festival is Friday, Nov. 17 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 18 12 p.m.–4 p.m. This is a family friendly free event for all the ages to help kick off the holiday shopping season. Many of the BRZ stores will be open late and have their own promos going on during the festival. Several volunteers are required for the two-day festival and some duties would include assisting with hot beverages, popcorn, Santa, sleigh rides, movies in the park and much much more! VOLUNTEER LETHBRIDGE – HOLIDAY GIFT WRAPPER OR CASHIER From Nov. 20 to Dec. 24, Volunteer Lethbridge will be providing Gift
Wrapping Services at Park Place Shopping Centre. This program hopes to increase holiday happiness by taking out the tedious task of gift wrapping for shoppers by providing this service and the proceeds go to a great cause. The kiosk is open during the mall’s holiday hours and scheduling is flexible. Shifts vary from 3-7 hours and depend on volunteer availability but a commitment to the shift is essential for team success. Volunteer opportunities include wrapping gifts in a professional manner, customer service, cashier and coat/parcel check. ADAPTACARE CEDAR CREEK – COMPANION & FEEDING MEALS VOLUNTEERS Adaptacare is looking for volunteers that love to spend time with seniors,
listening and reading for about an hour in the morning (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.) and/or the afternoon (3 p.m. to 4 p.m). They are also looking for three volunteers for lunch and supper to feed meals to residents who have dementia. Volunteers in this role must have experience feeding seniors who have dementia, Valid Basic Live Support Certificate (BLS), First Aid and CPR. INTERFAITH FOOD BANK SOCIETYRECEPTIONIST/ ADMINSTRATION/DATA ENTRY VOLUNTEERS The Interfaith Food Bank is looking for volunteers who would be interested in gaining some administrative skills to assist with welcoming and directing visitors to the appropriate departments, receive and record donations, keep the coffee and hot water station maintained, performs general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mail sorting and filing.
