• Seasons Lethbridge, 1730 10 Ave. S. (across from the hospital) will offer an evening of music with the Leblanc Family Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
• Al-Anon, a group for those facing problems caused by someone else’s drinking, meets Thursdays at 1 p.m. at the Family Centre, Suite 225, 200 4 Ave. S. (Lethbridge Centre). Details: Pat, 403-359-2169 or Marlene, 403-388-7319.
• “Easy Does It” Al-Anon for adult children of alcoholics, a support group for people who want to learn healthier coping skills in their relationships, meets Thursdays, 7 p.m., Church of the Good Shepherd, 2406 11 Ave. S., front door. Details: Judy, 403-329-0661.
• Blankets for Canada Lethbridge meets Thursdays from 10 a.m.-noon at the west entrance of Southminster United Church (11 Street and 4 Avenue). We are in need of more volunteers. Donations of yarn or financial donations are greatly appreciated, also eightor nine-inch squares as well as strips 70 inches long, knitted or crocheted. • Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch No. 4 hosts cribbage every Thursday with a start time of 6:45 p.m. Don’t be late; come out and play.
• The Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 18 St.) is open Thursdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. as a service to the community. Most clothing and shoes at $2. Household items very reasonably priced — Christmas decorations, bedding, tablecloths, curtains, kitchen items, books, fine china, jewelry and more. Cash only. Come and browse.
• The Lethbridge Philatelic Society (stamp collectors) meets every second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Christ Trinity Church, 416 12 St. S. Anyone interested in stamp collecting is welcome. For more information, contact Walter at 403-388-9174.

The River Bottom Writers invite you to join them the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:45 p.m. in the Richardson Oilseed Room at Lethbridge College for a session of informal writing practice. • Coutts Christmas Market will take place Nov. 10 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in the gym at the historic Coutts School. Enjoy a hot Chinese lunch and shop from over 30 tables. • Tis The Season Christmas Market will take place at Exhibition Park, 3401 Parkside Drive S., Nov. 10 from 4-9 p.m. and Nov. 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. with a moment of silence at 1 p.m. for Remembrance Day. Entrance is by cash donation (going to the Prairie Pitbull Rescue Charity). Featuring one-stop shopping for everyone on your Christmas list with a wide range of vendors.
• Lethbridge Remembrance Day ceremonies will take place Nov. 11 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Lethbridge Exhibition Park – South Pavilion and from noon-12:30 p.m. at the Lethbridge Cenotaph (outside City Hall, 4 Avenue South, downtown). The downtown ceremony will include a flyover of the Lethbridge Cenotaph by the Royal Canadian Air Force C-17 Globemaster of the 429 (Bison) Squadron, scheduled at approximately 12:15 p.m. The City Hall ceremony will be followed by the official unveiling of a monument honouring the enduring friendship between 429 Squadron and the City of Lethbridge.
• A Remembrance Day Service will be held Nov. 11 at the Barons Legion Branch #160, 205 Main St. Barons. Doors open at 10:15 a.m., service at 10:50 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Everyone is welcome.
• Kainai War Veterans Association will hold a Remembrance Day Ceremony Nov. 11 at the Kainai Multi-Purpose Building in Standoff starting at 10 a.m. with the Grand Entry. Schedule includes two minutes of silence observed at 11 a.m., followed by laying of wreaths. Luncheon to follow. All Blood Tribe members welcome. • Parkbridge Estates Tenants Association Fall Tea, Craft and Bake Sale will be held Nov. 11 from 2-4 p.m. at 2920 29 Ave. S.
• Six O'clock in the Chapel, an evening Vesper service with beautiful music, will be held Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. in Buchanan Chapel at Southminster United Church, featuring reflections by Hilary Squires; musical guest is Monica Baczuk, flute. This brief, intimate service is open to everyone. Enter at the chapel doors, 1011 4 Ave. S.
• Southminster United Church will hold a Remembrance Day service Nov. 12 at 10:30 a.m., featuring special music by Trudi Mason, trumpet, and Joe Brewster, bagpipes. Everyone is welcome.
• Nord-Bridge Senior Citizens Association will present Country Classics with Country Blend Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the Nord-Bridge Multi-Purpose Hall, 1904 13 Ave. N. Tickets $25 advance, $35 at the door. Advantage tickets available at the Nord-Bridge Centre, 403-329-3222. Proceeds will go toward purchase and installation of new flooring at the centre.
• The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Potluck Dinner at their next meeting Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m. A nominations and elections meeting will follow dinner. All women are urged to come out; the Auxiliary needs more members to attend. If you can’t bring anything for the potluck, there’ll be a $7 fee for dinner.
• All women are invited to a dinner and fashion show Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Luigi’s Banquet Room in Taber. Featuring fashions from Coaldale Ladies Wear, presented by Cheryl Wright; beautiful music of Terri Valgardson and Gloria Cyr; and an inspirational message, “God Has This,” by Lorraine Dykstra. • Harambee Grandmas, the Lethbridge Chapter of the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, will present their next Travel Chat Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Casa’s ATB Financial Community Room, 230 8 St. S., featuring Nicaragua and Guatemala. Join Sue Huffman and Paul Henderson to learn about the pros and cons of “plan as you go” travelling — and discover how economical travel can be in this sunny and surprising part of Central America. Free admission; donations welcomed.
• Archaeological Society of Alberta Lethbridge Centre will meet Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lethbridge Public Library (Main Branch). Guest speaker Corey Davis will discuss “Coastal Mediterranean: Harbour Sites and the Corresponding Trade Relations in the Northeastern Mediterranean.” Everyone is welcome.
• Building Cultural Bridges: “The Metis People and its Culture.” Guest speaker Roy Pogozelski. • Hatrix Theatre presents “12 Angry Jurors” by Reginald Rose Nov. 15-18 at Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre. Tickets are $15 advance, $20 at the door. Advance tickets on sale at Blueprint Entertainment (519 4 Ave. S.).
• The Foremost Theatrical Society will present its production of “Nana’s Naughty Knickers” by Katherine Di-Savino with performances Nov. 15, 17 and 18 at the Foremost Community Hall. • The Annual Shaughnessy Dinner and Auction Night will be held Nov. 18 at the Shaughnessy Community Centre. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Dinner cost $10 (children 10 and under $5). Live and Fish Bowl Auction at 7 p.m.
• Helen Schuler Nature Centre will host a Christmas Crafts event Nov. 22-23 from 7-8:30 p.m., offering an evening of fun, crafting, apple cider and hot cocoa.
