Man, woman face trafficking charges
SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED FOR DOWNTOWN APARTMENT UNIT
A man and a woman are facing drug-related charges stemming from a police investigation at an apartment complex known for drug activity in the downtown core.
The pair are facing charges in connection with methamphetamine trafficking, possession of stolen property.
The arrests came following the Thursday execution of a search warrant in an apartment unit at Galt Manor in the 500 block of 7 Street South.
The operation included members of the Downtown Policing Unit, LPS patrol officers and the Community Resource Unit.
Police found seven adults and two children in the apartment unit and seized a number of items, including a quantity of methamphetamine, cash, drug packaging paraphernalia, an assortment of weapons — including five swords, a machete, two hatchets, five knives, three throwing knives, $4,500 in stolen tools, and numerous other items of stolen property.
In addition, police recovered several hundred BMX bicycle parts along with five bicycles that had been altered or were in the process of the being altered.
Clement Nolan Black Rabbit, 34, is charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, two counts of possession of stolen credit cards, six counts of breaching a recognizance and two counts of possession of stolen property.
Chantelle Joyce Pantherbone, 27, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
Both subjects are awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
The other people found in the apartment unit were not charged.
