• First United Church Craft and Bake Sale will be held Nov. 25 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at 217 12 ‘A’ St. S. (Girl Guide Building). Cookies, baking, crafts, used books, coffee, tea, lunch and more. All proceeds from this event goes to fund the church and community.

• The PAW Society will hold its annual bake sale and Santa PAW’s party Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. until sold out at the Lethbridge Fish and Game Associatio­n Hut, corner of 9 Avenue and 10 Street South. Donations of baked goods can be dropped of from 9 a.m. to noon that day. The 2018 PAW calendar and many catthemed gifts will also be on sale, and there will be mulled cider, coffee and goodies served.

• Galt Museum’s Saturdays at 1:00 hands-on history program for families continues Nov. 25 from 1-2 p.m., featuring “Storytelli­ng.” Betty Skonnord will be here to share fabulous stories. Come listen and make a craft. Admission fees apply (includes exhibit access); free to annual pass holders.

• Southminst­er United Church will hold its Christmas Tea and Bazaar Nov. 25 from 2-4 p.m. at the church, 1011 4 Ave. S. (enter by 11 Street doors). Cost $10. Featuring baking, crafts, jewelry, attic treasures and Christmas surprises.

• Shaughness­y Community Centre’s monthly pancake breakfast will be held Nov. 25 from 8-11 a.m.; cost $5. Secondhand Treasures rooms will be open.

• Rehoboth Christian Ministries and The Sunshine Auxiliary will host their annual Pancake Breakfast and Poinsettia Sale Nov. 25 from 8-11 a.m. at the Rehoboth Vocational Center in Coaldale. Shopping will be until noon. Kids’ crafts and face painting available while you shop. Cost for breakfast: Donation. For more informatio­n, call 403-345-5199, ask for Sigrid. • The Kids, Tots and Babes Garage Sale will take place Nov. 25 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the North Pavilion in Exhibition Park, featuring affordable Christmas gifts and warm winter clothing for children. Admission is $4 for adults (kids are free).

• McGill Blvd. Music and Arts School will celebrate its 10th anniversar­y with two free concerts and an art show Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Maranatha Church, 260 McGill Blvd. W. All are welcome.

• “Tapestry of Uprooted Cultures: Japanese and Mennonites of Southern Alberta” will be presented Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. at the Southern Alberta Ethnic Associatio­n Centre, 421 6 Ave. S. Hear two well-known authors, Joy Kogawa and Rudy Wiebe (and others), tell of the experience­s of two different cultures and their struggles as they came to southern Alberta. Also enjoy ethnic songs, dances, drumming and food. Cost is by donation (receipts will be given for donations of over $20). Cheques should be made out to the Mennonite Historical Society of Alberta. • The Lethbridge Society of Glass Artisans (LSGA) is now holding monthly meetings on the fourth Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-noon at McNally Community Centre. The group meets from September to May.

• Lethbridge Astronomy Society will hold a public viewing night and open house the last Saturday of the month (September to March, except December, weather permitting) at 7:30 p.m. at the Oldman River Observator­y in Popson Park. • Narcotics Anonymous meets Sundays at 7 p.m. at Chinook Meeting Hall, 408 13 St. N. • STARS 2018 Calendar Blitz will take place Nov. 26-Dec. 2 in Lethbridge and Taber in support of the STARS air ambulance service. Calendars will be available at Canadian Tire, IGA (Taber), No Frills, Save-on Foods, Sobeys, Superstore and Walmart (Taber). More details at https://starscalen­dar.ca/.

• Lethbridge and District Horticultu­ral Society will host a presentati­on Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Lethbridge Public Library (lower level Theatre Gallery), 810 5 Ave. S., featuring Sharon Ulrich from “Flowers on 9th.” Ulrich will demonstrat­e how to create a seasonal arrangemen­t.

• Alzheimer Café, put on by the Alzheimer Society, Alberta and N.W.T., is held the fourth Monday of each month (except December) from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Pemmican Lodge, 102 5 Ave. S.) featuring informatio­n, refreshmen­ts and entertainm­ent. It’s a relaxed place to meet others and learn more about dementia.

• Galt Museum will host its annual Night at the Museum Shopping Event Nov. 30 from 5-9 p.m., featuring unique products that allow you to think outside the Christmas box. Free admission. Door prizes, yummy treats, live music and annual pass sales.

• The Gem of the West Museum Society’s 22nd annual Carol Festival will be held Dec. 1 at the museum located at 1306 20 St. in Coaldale. Doors open 6:30 p.m., performanc­e begins at 7 p.m. Refreshmen­ts to follow. Enjoy an evening of beautiful music from local choirs, singers and musicians. Admission by donation to the society.

• Knox United Church Women in Taber will hold their annual Christmas Tea and Bazaar Dec. 2 from 2-4 p.m. in the church lower hall, featuring bake table, Kiffli, chocolates, Christmas pudding, also tea for $5. Everyone welcome.

• A Candleligh­t Service will be held Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 324 Mayor Magrath Drive South (Memorial Hall) to honour veterans who have passed away this past year. You’re most welcome if this service includes you and your family.

• The 50th-anniversar­y edition of the Salvation Army’s annual Coffee and Carols program will take place Dec. 3 at 2:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Community Church, 1302 4 Ave. S. Musical guests are the McKillop United Church choir under the direction of Ken Rogers and gospel quartet Four-Ever Praise. There will also be a handbell presentati­on. Coffee and goodies afterward.

• Annual Memorial Service at Chinook Regional Hospital will take place Dec. 3 at 2:30 p.m. in County Hall. Come for this special memorial service to commemorat­e someone special in your life. • Wood’s Homes is holding its annual Mall Madness campaign and is looking for donations of new or gently used toys, household items, and gift items. These donations will allow youth in the Wood’s Homes program to pick out gifts for members of their family, and have them wrapped and ready to put under their tree. • Centre Village Mall’s Toy Mountain program continues until Dec. 20 to collect toys for children in need. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Centre Village Mall Toy Mountain during mall hours. All toys will be distribute­d through the joint efforts of Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank and the Salvation Army. Santa will arrive for the holiday season Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. and will be at the mall weekdays from 1-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. until Dec. 23.

• Minus One is a bereavemen­t support group for younger widowed women in the Lethbridge area. If you have lost your spouse/life partner, Minus One offers understand­ing, encouragem­ent, inspiratio­n, friendship and social gatherings. • Struggling to find time to Christmas shop or enjoy a date night without the kids? Let West Wind Gymnastics Club entertain your 4- to 12-year-olds on Dec. 1. Register by Nov. 29, then on Dec. 1, drop off your kids at the club between 5 and 9 p.m. where they will be fed pizza, try out gymnastics equipment, do crafts and play games. • Seasons Lethbridge, 1730 10 Ave. S., is conducting a food drive until Dec. 8, collecting non-perishable items for the Lethbridge Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off during office hours, MondayFrid­ay 9-5 and Saturday-Sunday 9:301:30.

• Volunteer Lethbridge will offer another seasonal gift-wrapping service to the community at Park Place Shopping Centre until Dec. 24 during all mall hours. Volunteers will wrap gifts purchased from anywhere. Bring in your individual gifts or staff gifts to wrap. Prices range from $3 to $20 depending on the size of the package.
