• The third annual Festival of Nativities will continue Dec. 15 from 19 p.m., Dec. 16 from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Dec. 17 from 2-8 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2410 28 St. S. in Lethbridge. Featuring hundreds of Christmas nativities on indoor display, interactiv­e children’s room with dress-up nativity, puzzles and more. Also three musical concerts featuring local performers, taking place Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 2 and 7 p.m.

• Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Club invites the public to play shuffleboa­rd, mixed darts and billiards (pool) Fridays, 7 p.m., 517 5 Ave. S.

• Galt Museum’s Saturdays at 1:00 hands-on history program for families continues Dec. 16 from 1-2 p.m. with “Pasta & Seed Art.” Make a beautiful piece of art using dried pasta and seeds. You’ll also find out about the history of pasta and infamous Italian immigrant Emilio Picariello, whose story is explored in our special exhibit. Admission fees apply (includes exhibit access); free to annual pass holders.

• College Drive Community Church will present “The Story,” a Gleestyle musical performanc­e, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at 2710 College Drive S. Free admission; refreshmen­ts to follow the performanc­e.

• MADD Lethbridge & Area is hosting Christmas MADDness Dec. 16 from 1-3 p.m. at Milestone Mazda, 3530 4 Ave. S. There will be face painting, horse and wagon rides, photos with Santa, gift wrapping, colouring contest, treats and much more. All proceeds will go to support MADD Lethbridge & Area. • The Last Chance Cat Ranch will have a table at Meet Your Maker Dec. 16 from noon-5 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion on Mayor Magrath Drive South. Featuring an assortment of handmade crafts and pet items for sale to help with fundraisin­g to pay off the LCCR’s vet bills. All revenue goes to the care of the cats for the volunteer-operated charity.

• West Wind Gymnastics Club offers drop-in fun on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. It’s a great opportunit­y to practise your gymnastic skills in a friendly, supervised environmen­t. Age 5 and under $6 and must be accompanie­d by an adult; 6 and older $12.

• 55-Plus at Via Church (formerly River of Life) welcomes all to their monthly potluck suppers on the third Saturday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at 2820 18 Ave. N. • The Rotary Club of Raymond will present the Annual Rotary Community Carole Festival Dec. 17 at the Raymond Cultural Hall, 200 West and Church Avenue. Raymond High School Band Prelude at 6 p.m., opening choir at 6:30 p.m. A variety of school, community and church choirs will perform. Collecting at the door non-perishable food items for the Standoff Food Bank and gently used children’s and youth books for the Kainai Public Library and community.

• Interfaith Food Bank still has openings for its free Shop Smart and Collective Kitchen programs. The next Shop Smart session takes place Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. and the next Collective Kitchen session goes Dec. 20 at 12:30 p.m. More classes will be available in 2018. • Centre Village Mall’s Toy Mountain program continues until Dec. 20 to collect toys for children in need. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Centre Village Mall Toy Mountain during mall hours. All toys will be distribute­d through the joint efforts of Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank and the Salvation Army. Santa will be at the mall weekdays, 1-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. until Dec. 23.

• Seasons Lethbridge (formally known as Sunrise Village), 1730 10 Ave. S., will host a jam session Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

• Southern Alberta Skating Academy will hold its Christmas show, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Dec. 22 from 66:45 p.m. at the Enmax Centre. Tickets are $17 at ice level, $12 in the lower and upper bowl. Tickets are available at the Enmax Centre Box Office or online at enmaxcentr­e.ca.

• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints will present a Live Nativity Dec. 22, 23 and 24 from 6-8 p.m. at 4105 Forestry Ave. S., featuring free outdoor performanc­es running every 20 minutes.

• LSCO 33rd Annual Christmas Turkey Dinner will take place Dec. 25 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Dinner is open to everyone in the community. Rides to the dinner can be booked one week in advance. If you are unable to attend, meals can be delivered to your home with one week advance booking. • A Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve Celebratio­n will be held Dec. 31 from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. at the Milk River Civic Centre. Featuring entertainm­ent by Border Bound. • A New Year’s Eve Dance Party will be held Dec. 31 at the Polish Hall, 745 13 St. N. • Italian Canadian Club will host a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31. Cocktails at 7 p.m., dinner at 8 p.m. featuring an Italian buffet feast. Dance music by the Bamboo Guppies. • Free FoodFit classes will be offered beginning in January at Interfaith Food Bank, 1103 3 Ave. N. Classes will take place Tuesdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m. or Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. Learn about nutrition cooking and exercise. Childcare available for some sessions. • The Lethbridge Public Library is holding an FASD, PTSD and ADHD Workshop Jan. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Crossings Branch (255 Britannia Blvd. West). The presentati­on will discuss these mental illnesses, how they affect people, and provide tips and tools that will help you work with those suffering from these disorders. • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on will offer Zentangle Art #1 Mondays, Jan. 8-29 from 1-3 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Known as “Yoga for the Brain,” Zentangle Art creates a sense of calm, lowers stress, increases focus and concentrat­ion, increases creativity and problem solving. • The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour will visit the Lethbridge Public Library’s Main Branch Jan. 8–13 in the Theatre Gallery.
