• Do you, or someone you know, have a gambling problem which is causing havoc in your life and relationsh­ips? • TOPS #AB100, Lethbridge meets Tuesdays in the Lounge at Southminst­er United Church, 1011 4 Ave. S. Please use the office entrance. Weigh-in time: 99:45 a.m. Meeting: 10-11 a.m. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a notfor-profit support group for members who are trying to lose or maintain their weight. • Lethbridge Legal Guidance, a nonprofit society offering free legal advice to low-income southern Albertans, holds clinics Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m. by appointmen­t only. Call and speak with an Intake Officer to determine eligibilit­y for services. Some of the areas the society assists in include: Family, civil, criminal, traffic, employment, residentia­l tenancy, immigratio­n, AISH, EI and social assistance issues. • LSCO Karaoke Club meets every Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Come join them for good fun and singing. There is an extensive library with all the words on the screen.

• Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on offers Noon Basketball Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12-1 p.m., until Dec. 28 (no session Dec. 28) at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. $40 per month or $120 for 4 months. • Quilts of Valour — Sewing Bees meet at the Lethbridge Legion the first

• Centre Village Mall’s Toy Mountain program continues until Dec. 20 to collect toys for children in need. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Centre Village Mall Toy Mountain during mall hours. All toys will be distribute­d through the joint efforts of Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank and the Salvation Army. Santa will be at the mall weekdays from 1-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. until Dec. 23.

• Seasons Lethbridge (formally known as Sunrise Village), 1730 10 Ave. S., will host a jam session Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

• EyeOpener Toastmaste­rs Club, for people who want to learn public speaking and leadership skills, meets Wednesdays, 7 to 8 a.m., Legacy Tae Kwon Do, 1236 3 Ave. S. • Songs to Light the Night – Candlelit Winter Solstice Concert will take place Dec. 21 at 8:30 and 11 p.m. at Southminst­er United Church. The Sweet Breath Ensemble, conducted by Janet Youngdahl, will give two performanc­es in the Southminst­er chapel to mark the solstice. The Sweet Breath Ensemble is comprised of U of L faculty members and alumni, including Regan Brooks, Bonnie Chartier, Jaimee Jarvie, Ruth Phillips, Karen Hudson, Erin Thrall and Youngdahl. Tickets are $20 at the door.

• Southern Alberta Skating Academy will hold its Christmas show, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Dec. 22 from 66:45 p.m. at the Enmax Centre. Tickets are $17 at ice level, $12 in the lower and upper bowl. Tickets are available at the Enmax Centre Box Office or online at enmaxcentr­e.ca.

• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints will present a Live Nativity Dec. 22, 23 and 24 from 6-8 p.m. at 4105 Forestry Ave. S., featuring free outdoor performanc­es running every 20 minutes.

• LSCO 33rd Annual Christmas Turkey Dinner will take place Dec. 25 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Dinner is open to everyone in the community. Rides to the dinner can be booked one week in advance. If you are unable to attend, meals can be delivered to your home with one week advance booking. • South Country Jamboree Society will hold its regular jam session Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. in Memorial Hall at the Lethbridge Legion. Supper may be ordered from Great Plate Catering.

• A Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve Celebratio­n will be held Dec. 31 from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. at the Milk River Civic Centre. Featuring entertainm­ent by Border Bound. Silent auction, cash bar, Kids Zone movie at 10 p.m. Refreshmen­ts and snacks provided. Adults $20, students 13-17 $10, family $50, kids 712 $5, 6 and under free. • A New Year’s Eve Dance Party will be held Dec. 31 at the Polish Hall, 745 13 St. N. • Italian Canadian Club will host a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31. Cocktails at 7 p.m., dinner at 8 p.m. featuring an Italian buffet feast. Dance music by the Bamboo Guppies.
