WEST WIND GYMNASTICS CLUB - FOAM PIT CLEANER VOLUNTEERS West Wind Gymnastics Club will be holding their yearly foam pit

cleaning on Dec. 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and could use your help. They are looking for about 20 people to assist with emptying the foam pit of pieces of foam, shop vac the floor and wipe down the walls, fix/repair where necessary and fill the pit back up. All equipment and cleaning supplies are provided as well as drinks and snacks. This is a great opportunit­y for groups or families (must be 16 or older). SOCIETY OF FRIENDS OF CHINOOK REGIONAL HOSPITAL – BOARD MEMBERS

Friends of the Chinook Regional Hospital is overseen by a volunteer board, and is currently

seeking 3-4 new members. Each board member is asked to have previous experience serving on a Board of Directors and have a knowledge of executive functions, finance, human resources, funding allocation­s, and scholarshi­ps. These positions are open to individual­s who have the desire to achieve the vision of the Society of Friends, helping to enhance the patient experience and foster volunteeri­sm at Chinook Regional Hospital. STREETS ALIVE MISSION – MISSION SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS

Streets Alive Mission is looking

for volunteers to help with Inner Works/Sunday evening serving, prayer force, communicat­ions, housekeepi­ng, laundry and maintenanc­e. Due to complex life issues faced by many of their clients, volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old. BIRTHRIGHT LETHBRIDGE OFFICE & CLIENT SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS

Birthright Lethbridge is a free and confidenti­al pregnancy support service. Women of any age, ethnic origin, religion or economic status who are faced with a crisis pregnancy, can find a listening ear and emotional support at Birthright. Birthright also provides informatio­n and referrals to various community organizati­ons, depending on the individual needs of the client. Birthright invites mature, nonjudgmen­tal individual­s to advise and support their clientele.

INTERFAITH FOOD BANK SOCIETY - FOODFIT VOLUNTEER

FoodFit is a free program designed to bring people together to set goals, learn skills and make measurable change in overall health and fitness, with a focus on nutrition and exercise. The Interfaith Food bank is looking for a few volunteers to help with setup of FoodFit cooking classes,

cleaning up and putting away supplies and equipment and assist in supervisin­g cooking classes as well as proper use of equipment. Some experience with cooking and familiarit­y with the kitchen would be an assest. THE LETHBRIDGE THERAPEUTI­C RIDING ASSOCIATIO­N - THERAPEUTI­C RIDING ASSISTANT The Lethbridge Therapeuti­c Riding Associatio­n is looking for

volunteers to lead horses for

therapeuti­c classes, prepare horses for classes and provide emotional and physical support while riding to a person with special needs. Therapeuti­c Riding Assistants should have compassion and understand­ing for people with special needs and be comfortabl­e working closely with horses. BLANKETS FOR CANADA KNIT & CROCHET VOLUNTEERS

Blankets For Canada has an ongoing need for volunteers to knit or crochet 8-inch or 9-inch squares or strips (70 inches long) to be made into blankets! These can be dropped off at Southminst­er United Church on Thursdays between 10 a.m.-noon, or at Michael’s in the Park Place mall. Volunteers to help join the strips/squares also greatly appreciate­d! Joiners meet 10 a.m.noon on Thursdays at the West entrance of Southminst­er United Church (11 Street and 4 Avenue).
