Pride girls top the Cobras

The Coaldale Kate Andrews Pride earned a home win in Deep South Basketball Conference play Tuesday.

Victoria Reed led the Pride with 22 points and teammate Raegan Abrey added 19 as the Pride downed the Claresholm Willow Creek Cobras 71-48.

Kelby Hart led the Cobras with 19 points and Katie Hart chipped in with 12.

In the junior varsity game the Pride won 81-35.

Mackenzie Gugyelka had 24 points for Kate Andrews, while Bailey Kasko and Kylie Bryan had 17 and 10 points, respective­ly.

Tia Woodruff had 14 points for Willow Creek.

In boys’ play at Claresholm Tuesday, the Cobras defeated the Pride 106-27.

Ross VanRootsel­aar put up 22 point for Claresholm, Jean Pierre Otero Rodriguez added 16 and Nic Harder scored 15.

In Deep South play Monday night, the Immanuel Christian Eagles boys topped the Stirling Lakers 87-74 in Stirling as Levi Vroom had a 39-point night for the Eagles.

Ryan Degner and Steven Veldman each scored 14 points for Immanuel Christian.

Ty Mazutinec topped the Lakers with 27 points and Ryder Nelson had 16.

Dalton Wiersma scored nine points for Kate Andrews.

The Cobras won the junior varsity game 72-44 as Jackson Wright had 25 points for Willow Creek and Daniel Schuepbach put up 13.

Grant Gettman had a 20-point game for Kate Andrews.
