• Building Cultural Bridges will hold its next weekly presentation Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Multicultural Centre, with the topic “Ukraine” with guest speaker Donna Whitton.
• The Lethbridge Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association will meet Jan. 29 at 7:15 p.m. at the Lethbridge Senior Citizen Centre, 500 11 St. S. The group helps newly diagnosed people to adjust to their gluten-free diet and also talk about recipes, restaurants, travelling, new research, organize cookie exchanges, gluten-free potlucks and special events. • Free outdoor fit camp, for all ages and all abilities, runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at two locations in the city. • Transitions, a 15-week peer support program to help those who are separated or divorced, will take place Tuesday evenings beginning Jan. 30 from 7-9 p.m. at St. Basil’s Parish Hall (604 13 St. N.). Participants will meet once a week to reflect upon and discuss topics such as self-esteem, grief, stress, anger, guilt, blame, loneliness, forgiveness, blended families and more. • Galt Museum’s Saturdays at 1:00 hands-on history program for families will continue Feb. 3 from 1-2 p.m., featuring “Traditional Blackfoot Diet and Medicine.” Come learn about the traditional Blackfoot foods and medicine, listen to stories from the Galt’s Blackfoot Cultural Interpreter Blanche Bruisedhead and decorate your own pouch to take home. • Are You On Your Own? Come for the 3 C’s (Cooking, Conversation & Companionship), a six-week cooking class for individuals who live alone, Tuesdays, Feb. 6-March 13 at 2:30 p.m. at McKillop United Church, 2329 15 Ave. S. Instruction will be given each week to create simple, healthy meals to be taken home. The class offers the opportunity to interact with individuals in the same circumstances and to develop new friendships. Cost: $50 per person (fee must be paid at time of registration). • Nord-Bridge Senior Citizens will hold a Valentine’s Luncheon on Feb. 9 at 11:30 a.m. with live entertainment. Tickets are available by calling the centre at 403-3293222. Open to members and nonmembers.
• Lethbridge College’s Winter Open House will take place Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the college’s Centre Core, offering an opportunity for potential students to learn more about the college’s programs, student services, residences, clubs and anything else that may help their post-secondary decision-making. The day will include the opportunity to speak with faculty, take campus tours and visit interactive program areas. Applications to Lethbridge College can even be done on the spot.
