Animation film festival Wednesday

Each fall, Calgary audience members and jurors select their favourite animation films.

On Wednesday, Lethbridge animation fans are invited to a free screening of their selections from the GIRAF Festival of Independent Animation.

The New Media department at the University of Lethbridge has organized the evening, set for 7 p.m. at Casa. It’s being presented by the Quickdraw Animation Society.

Peter Hemming, the group’s executive director, is bringing the films to Lethbridge.

They cover a variety of animation techniques, organizers say. For the curious, “GIRAF” stands for Giant Incandescent Resonating Animation Festival.
