Comets survive test from visiting Bulldogs

Raymond Comets held off the Winston Churchill Bulldogs 100-97 in Southern Alberta 4A Boys Basketball League play on Tuesday.

Jeter Heggie led the Comets attack with 25 points while Brady Baines and Parker Graves added 21 apiece. Also hitting double figures were Drake Still and Garrett Hasegawa with 11 and 10 points respective­ly.

Caleb Kadijk and Reuben Roth replied with 26 points apiece for the Bulldogs while Isaac Greenwood added 18. Raphael Hogan and Sean Adams chipped in with 10 apiece.

In junior varsity play, Raymond rolled to a 102-61 win over Churchill as Jaxon West hit for 34 points and Liam Davison added 18. Tanner Salmon and Brandon Kiehl-Griff scored 12 and 11 respective­ly for the winners.

Tyreese Russell replied with 12 points for Churchill and Tyman Card added eight.

In other action, the LCI Rams outlasted the Catholic Central Cougars 112-101 as John Evans tossed in 39 points and Derek McNabb and Isaiah Bagnah added 15 apiece. Also reaching double digits were Zach Jacobs and Jack FoxGrey with 13 apiece.

Shae Gibb replied with 32 points for the Cougars while CJ Hirsche added 25, followed by Ben Hoveling with 18 and Luis Arida with 11.

LCI downed CCH 98-47 in JV play as Garrett Procee led the way with 26 points while Brady Van Bruggen and Cade Francis added 11 and 10 respective­ly.

Raphael Batingal, Inigo Castro and Daniel Marcis replied with eight each for CCH.
