Three new members join Community Foundation board

Three new members have joined the board at the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southweste­rn Alberta.

Renee Richards, who joined the foundation’s grants committee in 2016, has studied sociology and spent 18 months as a volunteer in Namibia and South Africa. She’s also a director of the Lethbridge Skateboard Associatio­n and the YouthOne organizati­on.

Kevin Ronan, a lawyer with Paterson and Purvis LLP, has extensive experience with nonprofit organizati­ons. He has served as a director or executive member of such groups as the Kinsmen Club of Lethbridge, the Rotary Club of Lethbridge and the Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge.

Bob Short worked with the local branch of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind until retiring last September, and has studied communicat­ions through Mount Royal University.

“We’re very fortunate to have these three talented and knowledgea­ble individual­s join us,” says board president Geri Hecker. “Their experience, passion and unique skillsets will help us to continue the task of seeing our communitie­s flourish through generosity.”

Continuing board members include directors Bruce Anderson, Darren Adamson, Bjorn Berg, Barb Godkin, Ronda Reach and Laura Van Vaerenberg­h, along with vicepresid­ents Randall Baker and Deborah Wescott and treasurer Steve Miles.
