Celebrate Library Lovers’ Day on February 14

Did you know that Valentine’s Day is a special day for us here at the Lethbridge Public Library? Why? Because Feb. 14 is also Library Lovers’ Day! So, regardless of whether or not you celebrate Valentine’s Day, on Feb. 14 you can celebrate how much you love our library by visiting one of its branches and checking out some of these great titles that celebrate love in all aspects of life.

1. “Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story” — This DVD chronicles the lives of Harold Michelson, a production designer, and his librarian wife Lillian, who eloped in 1947, and worked on Hollywood films for six decades.

2. “The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin — A beautiful novel about second chances and finding room for those who can transform our lives.

3. “Eleanor & Park” by Rainbow Rowell — Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two 16year-olds, and their tale of an often heartbreak­ing first love.

4. “Flapper Pie and a Blue Prairie: A Modern Baker’s Guide to Old-fashioned Desserts” by Karlynn Johnston — For those who love to bake, this is a modern take on classic desserts. Try the classic Flapper Pie recipe to spoil those you love.

5. “Train_man, Densha Otoko” by Hidenori Hara — This graphic novel tells the tale of a man who, on his daily commute, falls in love at first sight with a girl on the train.

6. “The Thrill of it All” by Sam Smith — Breathtaki­ngly beautiful songs about the ups and downs of love.

7. “Love Her Wild” by Atticus — In a stunning collection of what has been coined “tattooable poems,” Instagram poet @atticuspoe­try examines the highs and lows of love.

8. “Lunch in Paris” by Elizabeth Bard — Part cookbook, part memoir, this is a story of falling in love, and discoverin­g what being home really means.

9. “The Notebook” by Nicholas Sparks — You’ve probably seen the film version, but check out the book, it is even more romantic and heartbreak­ing than the movie.

10. “The Dark and Other Love Stories” by Deborah Willis — A collection of short stories that each showcase the human capacity to love.
