Rebels sweep Cougars

Visiting Taber W.R. Myers Rebels swept Catholic Central Cougars in Southern Alberta Girls Basketball League action Monday night.

Rebels defeated the Cougars 89-72 in senior play as Kitawna Sparks hit for 31 points, while Alex Haller and Dani Wright added 17 and 14 respectively.

Ashley Sazalski replied with 18 points for the Cougars, followed by Skyla Sloan with 17 and Chloe Bevans with 16.

In junior varsity play, Myers downed CCH 74-53 as Vicky Shimbashi scored 16 points while Anika Steed and Hayley Jone added 14 apiece. Emily Hoyt chipped in with 13.

Kyra Collier replied with 22 points for CCH with Jordan Goruk adding 11.

In other action, Medicine Hat High Kwahommies defeated the Chinook Coyotes 91-47 as Hailee Parker scored 22 points and Rhiannon Ware added 18.

Mackenzie Harms and Charlize Baron replied with 11 points apiece in a losing cause.
