PPW Power Rumble set for Saturday
Superstars will collide and a new contender for the Pure Power Wrestling heavyweight title will arise from this year’s Power Rumble. Fifteen superstars will enter the ring for the second annual Power Rumble this weekend. The winner will claim the coveted number-one contender spot to face the heavyweight champion as part of April’s Anniversary Extravaganza VII event.
In the Power Rumble, two men will begin in the ring with a new opponent entering every two minutes.
Eliminations occur when a wrestler is thrown over the top rope with both feet touching the floor. The last man standing will be the winner.
“The Power Rumble is one of the most exciting matches of the year,” said Vinnie Valentine, PPW commissioner, in a news release.
“Bodies flying everywhere, the ring completely full of people, action, excitement and chaos. The winner is going to become number-one contender, so these guys are willing to do anything to win."
Last year's Power Rumble ended in controversy after The Irishman delivered a brutal IRA off the apron to Chris Perish, and both men hit the ground at the same time — leaving no clear winner.
The outcome was one of the early triggers in what became a white-hot feud between the two grapplers that lasted until the end of the year when they settled their differences in the ring.
The Power Rumble will feature Sydney Steele, “The Big Sexy Beast” Bradley Graham, PPW Cruiserweight Champion Travis “The Heat” Copeland, “Cowboy” Bryn Watts, Cyanide, Jumpin’ Josh, Kato, “The Tattooed Terminator” Massive Damage, Chris Perish, The Irishman and more!
Also on the card, “Cougar Meat” Kyle Sebastian will defend his PPW Heavyweight Championship and PPW Cruiserweight Champion Copeland will put his title on the line.
Power Rumble takes place at the Fritz Sick Memorial Centre Saturday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at King of Trade and online at purepowerwrestling.ca.
