• Contemplat­io (formerly Taizé Prayer) will take place Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Martha Retreat Centre, featuring ecumenical, meditative, multilingu­al, musical devotion, based on the music and style of the French ecumenical religious community of Taizé, a world-renowned centre of pilgrimage and prayer. The group meets September through June on the third Sunday of each month. All are invited and welcome. • Lenten Retreat Day will take place Feb. 24 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Martha Retreat Centre, 1130 Scenic Drive S. This will be a day of silence with guided reflection on the theme of God’s covenant with humanity. In Christ, the Father pours forth his boundless mercy even to making him “mercy incarnate.” The day will conclude with Eucharist for the Second Sunday of Lent at 4:15 p.m. Director: Charles PottiePate, sj. • “Through Mary’s Eyes” will be offered March 10 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Martha Retreat Centre, 1130 Scenic Drive S. This day of retreat will focus on Mary, as a mother, a woman and a disciple. • An interfaith devotional gathering is held Sundays from 1-3 p.m. at the Baha’i Informatio­n Centre, #2, 310 12 St. S. Includes prayers and readings from various faiths followed by discussion. Everyone is welcome. Details: 403394-8888.

• The Missions Thrift Store, located at 1004 1 Ave. S., is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Profits go toward mission work and Bibles for people in China and other Asian countries. Phone 403-327-3199.

• The MCC Thrift Shop, located at 1117 2 Ave. “A” N., features Level Ground Fair Trade coffee, formerly carried by Ten Thousand Villages. Proceeds from the store go to support poverty reduction projects around the world through Mennonite Central Committee. • Coaldale United Church operates Ye Old Thrift Shoppe Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2022 18 St., Coaldale.
