What is a bonded pair? It is a couple of cats who are such good friends, so in tune with each other and feel so comfortable in each other’s company that they should not be parted. Nicolas and Isabella are a bonded pair. Now, don’t let these siblings, who will be two in May, scare you. They’re not like scary twins from an episode of The Twilight Zone. They are in fact quite different in personality. Izzy needs to investigate every odd sound and strange sight. She has a great appetite — but keeps her girlish figure — and will eat her brother’s food if given a chance. Nic is a easygoing boy who loves playing, sometimes tossing his toys into water-bowls — or toilets. While they spend much of their time together, they will gladly abandon each other for a long-term lap-nap (that’s Izzy) or to be carried around like a baby (Nic). These two are identical in one way: they are sweet, loving little creatures. Find out more about Nicolas and Isabella by calling the PAW Society at 403-328-6700 or send an online inquiry at www.pawsociety.com. This lively and loving pair may be bonded, but their motto is, “There’s always room for one more.”

Jack is a lovely big, easy-going boy, a fairly typical orange male! He’s about four years old and came to the Humane Society when his owners left him behind in December 2017. Jack gets along well with others; he had two cat roommates (Chrissy and Janet) before coming to the Humane Society, and he also likes people a lot. Jack is looking for a loving forever home, and has plenty of affection to give to his new family! If you are interested in meeting Jack, you can visit him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). Mary Beth (top) and Calvin are approximately five and a half months old and are looking for their furever homes. They can be adopted together or separately. Mary Beth was found in Coaldale, shivering and crying, when she was a tiny baby. She is very shy and needs someone who will be patient with her. Once she feels secure in her surroundings Mary Beth enjoys attention and will show it with head butts and lots of purring. She will be up for adoption at Petland. Calvin was found in Shaughnessy when he was a tiny baby. He is a very handsome Siamese cross who loves to play and wrestle with his foster buddies. He is very affectionate and a little purring machine. Call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information about these two adorable kittens. Over the past few months we have had a few of our permanent residents needing medical care. Our bill at Green Acres Animal Hospital is very high and we are in desperate need of donations. No amount is ever too small.

Leslie would like to thank everyone who helps homeless cats, feeding them, giving them shelter and even taking them into their homes to keep them warm. Especially little black cats like her. Leslie is grateful that LCCR took her in from an abusive environment. A very gentle cat she is waiting patiently for her own home. You can read about Leslie by visiting

www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch or www.thelastchancecatranch.com. On this Family Day weekend please consider making a homeless cat a member of your family ... cuddles and purrs guaranteed! Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts.

Ruby is a sweet little senior (10-plus years). She’s an angel on a leash and doesn’t require much exercise but she sure loves to trot along! She is quiet in the house and her little bumper bed is her favourite sleeping spot. Ruby’s favourite treat is chicken and loves to get her chin scratched. She does fine with other dogs and cats but tends to be indifferent to them. She’ll follow you around the house and yard like a heat seeking missile. She’d love a big comfy bed and a warm place by the fire to spend her retirement years. Visit www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-359-3139 for more information.
