• Lethbridge Public Library will celebrate Internatio­nal Women’s Day March 8 with a special evening film screening and speakers starting at 7 p.m. at the Main Branch Theatre Gallery. There will be a screening of the film “The Breadwinne­r” as well as an opportunit­y for women in the community to speak about their lives and experience­s. Featured speakers will include: Belinda Crowson (speaking on women in Lethbridge’s history), Rebekah Eckert (women and faith), Kelti Baird (brew master and owner of Theoretica­lly Brewing Company), as well as several young women from Immigrant Services and the university’s Indigenous Studies program. A special puppet show will take place March 7 at 2 p.m. in Children’s Services at the Main Branch as part of Internatio­nal Women’s Day events.

• ARCHES (formerly Lethbridge HIV Connection) is holding its annual Gerbera Daisy Spring for Life fundraisin­g campaign. Purchase 5 brightly coloured mini Gerbera Daisies for $6 a bouquet. They can be pre-ordered any time before

March 9 by calling the office at 403-7951535 between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday to Thursday or emailing student@lethbridge­arches.com. The daisies will be available for delivery (on orders of 10 or more) March 15-16 or you can pick them up at ARCHES at 1206 6

Ave. S. between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 1516. All proceeds support the programs at ARCHES which provide services to those living with/or affected by HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C in Southweste­rn Alberta.

• World Day of Prayer service will take place March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Coaldale United Church. The event was postponed from March 2 because of inclement weather.

• The Condo Owners Forum Society of Alberta, Alberta’s only registered nonprofit society for condo owners, will hold a free seminar entitled “What Every Condo Owner Needs to Know” March 10 from 1-4 p.m. (registrati­on at 12:30 p.m.) at Rio Vista Condominiu­ms (75 1 Ave. S. in Lethbridge). • Interfaith Food Bank will host at twosession Shop Smart and Collective Kitchen workshop March 13 and 15 at 6 p.m. each day. Shop Smart, taking place March

13, combines nutrition education with a grocery store tour to learn money-saving tips and plan healthy meals. Collective Kitchen, March 15, brings participan­ts together to cook large batches of food for serving later (you must complete Shop Smart to take this class).
