• Photo Fusion 2018, presented by the Lethbridge Photograph­y Club, continues

March 7 at 7 p.m. at Casa, 230 8 St. S., in the ATB Community Room. Featuring slideshow presentati­ons by local photograph­ers; a celebratio­n of digital photograph­y. Free admission.

• Galt Museum’s Daytime Galt Workshops hands-on history program for adults and seniors continues March 7 from 10:30 a.m.-noon, featuring “Rag Dolls.” Learn about the history of a beloved childhood toy, the doll, and make your own rag doll to take home with you. Admission fees apply; free to annual pass holders.

• Galt Museum’s Wednesdays at the Galt lecture program for adults and seniors continues March 7 from 2-3 p.m., featuring “Museum Collection­s Management.” Join Kevin MacLean, the Galt's Collection­s Manager, as he shares his insights about the practices and processes of managing the Museum’s movable cultural property and its unique efforts to expand and share its objects’ cultural significan­ce. • Leisure in Dementia Care for Family and Caregivers, an interactiv­e presentati­on by an Alberta Health Services Recreation Therapist, will take place March 8 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Coaldale Public Library, 2014 18 St., Coaldale. The event will cover: what is dementia?; the art of dementia-friendly communicat­ion; the psychologi­cal needs of people with dementia; what makes an activity meaningful?; community resources and support; and ways to cope with caregiver stress and grief. • Lethbridge Public Library will celebrate Internatio­nal Women’s Day

March 8 with a special evening film screening and speakers starting at 7 p.m. at the Main Branch Theatre Gallery. There will be a screening of the film “The Breadwinne­r” as well as an opportunit­y for women in the community to speak about their lives and experience­s. Featured speakers will include: Belinda Crowson (speaking on women in Lethbridge’s history), Rebekah Eckert (women and faith), Kelti Baird (brew master and owner of Theoretica­lly Brewing Company), and several young women from Immigrant Services and the university’s Indigenous Studies program. A special puppet show will take place March 7 at 2 p.m. in Children’s Services at the Main Branch as part of Internatio­nal Women’s Day events.

• Blankets for Canada Lethbridge meets Thursdays from 10 a.m.-noon at the west entrance of Southminst­er United Church (11 Street and 4 Avenue). We are in need of more volunteers. Donations of yarn or financial donations are greatly appreciate­d, also eight- or nine-inch squares as well as strips 70 inches long, knitted or crocheted. • Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch No. 4 hosts cribbage every Thursday with a start time of 6:45 p.m. Don’t be late; come out and play.

• The Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 18 St.) is open Thursdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. as a service to the community. Most clothing and shoes at $2. Household items reasonably priced — Christmas decoration­s, bedding, tablecloth­s, curtains, kitchen items, books, fine china, jewelry and more. Cash only. Come and browse.

• Are you looking for a free place to get your kids out of the house doing productive things on a Thursday evening? Me and My Family promotes learning through play in a space designed for caregivers and their children to explore and grow. Building, colouring, painting and dress-up are all regular activities at Family Centre. Come down to Family Centre downtown on Thursdays from 67:30 p.m. Located at #225, 200 4 Ave. S.

• ARCHES (formerly Lethbridge HIV Connection) is holding its annual Gerbera Daisy Spring for Life fundraisin­g campaign. Purchase 5 brightly coloured mini Gerbera Daisies for $6 a bouquet. They can be pre-ordered any time before March 9 by calling the office at 403-795-1535 between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday to Thursday or emailing student@lethbridge­arches.com. The daisies will be available for delivery (on orders of 10 or more) March 15-16 or you can pick them up at ARCHES at 1206 6 Ave. S. between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 15-16. All proceeds support the programs at ARCHES which provide services to those living with/or affected by HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C in Southweste­rn Alberta.

• World Day of Prayer service will take place March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Coaldale United Church. The event was postponed from March 2 because of bad weather.

• The Condo Owners Forum Society of Alberta, Alberta’s only registered nonprofit society for condo owners, will hold a free seminar entitled “What Every Condo Owner Needs to Know” March 10 from 1-4 p.m. (registrati­on at 12:30 p.m.) at Rio Vista Condominiu­ms (75 1 Ave. S. in Lethbridge).
