• University of Lethbridge will present an International Women’s Day event March 9, 1:30-3:30 p.m. at PB210, Dr. Foster James Penny Building, 324 5 St. S. Sponsored by the Department of Women and Gender Studies, this event is an interactive celebration to press forward and achieve gender parity. The #PressforProgress hashtag allows anyone interested to engage and be counted. The event includes a launch of Dr. Glenda Bonifacio’s new book titled “Global Currents in Gender and Feminism.”
• University of Lethbridge will present Southern Alberta Employment Opportunities and Outlook March 9, 3 p.m., at B650, University Hall. Agricultural Studies and the Department of Economics at the U of L are sponsoring this public presentation featuring Jeremy Carter, field department manager at McCain Foods. Carter will talk about opportunities for U of L graduates in rural and agricultural labour markets.
• ARCHES (formerly Lethbridge HIV Connection) is holding its annual Gerbera Daisy Spring for Life fundraising campaign. Purchase 5 brightly coloured mini Gerbera Daisies for $6 a bouquet. They can be preordered any time before March 9 by calling the office at 403-795-1535 between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday to Thursday or emailing student@lethbridgearches.com. The daisies will be available for delivery (on orders of 10 or more) March 15-16 or you can pick them up at ARCHES at 1206 6 Ave. S. between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 15-16. All proceeds support the programs at ARCHES which provide services to those living with/or affected by HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C in Southwestern Alberta.
• World Day of Prayer service will take place March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Coaldale United Church. The event was postponed from March 2 because of inclement weather.
• Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Club, 517 5 Ave. S., invites the public to play shuffleboard, mixed darts and billiards (pool) Fridays, 7 p.m.; shuffleboard Tuesdays at 7 p.m.; crib on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.; and open crib tournament second Sunday of the month at 1 p.m.

• Nordbridge Bingo welcomes the public (18 and over) for a cash bingo with no surcharges Fridays at 1 p.m. (except holidays) at 1904 13 Ave. N. A regular book is $5, extra games $1 each. • The Lethbridge Association of the Blind (LAB) provides numerous activities for the blind and visually impaired in the Lethbridge area. Some of these include dinners with entertainment, attending musicals and tours of local museums. The association also runs a bowling league which takes place weekly at the Holiday Bowl. • The Condo Owners Forum Society of Alberta, Alberta’s only registered nonprofit society for condo owners, will hold a free seminar entitled “What Every Condo Owner Needs to Know” March

• West Wind Gymnastics Club offers drop-in fun on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to practise your gymnastic skills in a friendly, supervised environment. Age 5 and under $6 and must be accompanied by an adult; 6 and older $12.

• Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group meets the second Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. in Room C and D at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. Trigeminal neuralgia is a neuropathic disorder characterized by episodes of intense pain in the face, originating from the trigeminal nerve. Individuals with TN and their family members are invited to attend meetings. • Interfaith Food Bank will host at twosession Shop Smart and Collective Kitchen workshop March 13 and 15 at 6 p.m. each day. Shop Smart, taking place
March 13, combines nutrition education with a grocery store tour to learn moneysaving tips and plan healthy meals. Collective Kitchen, March 15, brings participants together to cook large batches of food for serving later (you must complete Shop Smart to take this class). • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization will offer Adult CPR (twohour introduction) March 13 from 10 a.m.-noon at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. • A volunteer group at Chinook Regional Hospital seeks donations of materials to be used to make various items to be sold in the Hospital Gift Shop.
