Canes host the Rebels
The Lethbridge Hurricanes return home tonight looking to get back into the win column.
The Hurricanes host the Red Deer Rebels during Western Hockey League play tonight at 7 p.m. at the Enmax Centre.
The Hurricanes return home after going 1-3 during a swing through Saskatchewan and Manitoba, coming off a 6-2 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday night and a 6-0 blanking at the hands of the Brandon Wheat Kings Tuesday.
The losses put the Hurricanes at 32-28-6-0, six points behind the Central Division-leading Medicine Hat Tigers (34-25-8-0).
Both teams are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
Hurricanes captain Jordy Bellerive is six goals away from the 50-goal mark, while during last week’s road trip, Taylor Ross became the fourth Canes player to top the 20-goal mark. He scored in the loss to Moose Jaw and now has 21 on the season.
Lethbridge rookie Dylan Cozens scored shorthanded in Moose Jaw and sits one goal ahead of Ross at 22.
Red Deer is led offensively by Mason McCarty, who has 35 goals and 66 points in 65 games.
The Hurricanes are also home Saturday night when they host the Regina Pats at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s game is the Canes second-last home game of the regular season.
The Hurricanes entertain the Tigers March 16 in their last home date of the season.
