Lethbridge Lightning face a difficult test

- LETHBRIDGE HERALD

The Lethbridge Lightning will have to play some catchup in the team’s first trip to the Ranchland Hockey League final.

Beginning the best-of-five championship final against the defending champion Nanton Palominos, the Lightning lost a pair of games on the road to fall behind 2-0 in the series, putting them in a must-win situation for Game 3 in Lethbridge Friday.

The Lightning lost 3-2 in overtime in Game 1 Friday night and 9-4 in Game 2 Saturday.

Ben Bohle and James Price scored for Lethbridge in Game 1. Matthew Nadeau, Cole Matson, Jake Harrison and Nic Bohle were the goal scorers in Game 2.

The Lightning — in their first season in the Ranchland Hockey League — look to stay alive when they host the Palominos in Game 3 Friday at the ATB Centre at 8:30 p.m.

If necessary, Game 4 goes Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at Nicholas Sheran arena and if needed, Game 5 goes back to Nanton Sunday at 6 p.m.
