Contemplat­io (formerly Taizé Prayer) will take place March 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Martha Retreat Centre, featuring ecumenical, meditative, multilingu­al, musical devotion, based on the music and style of the French ecumenical religious community of Taizé, a world-renowned centre of pilgrimage and prayer. • Southminst­er United Church offers monthly Labyrinth events. The next session will take place March 20 at 7 p.m., led by Veriditas-certified facilitato­r Nancy Fabro. March 20 is the Vernal Equinox so participan­ts will celebrate it by walking the labyrinth. Open to the public; enter through the west office doors at 1011 4 Ave. S.; by donation. • McKillop United Church (2329 15 Ave. S.) will host a showing of the film “The Road Forward March 22 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Lane Lounge. The film is a powerful musical National Film Board documentar­y connecting Indigenous nationalis­m of the 1930s and ’40s with the momentum of today's First Nations activism. It connects stories and interviews with music and songs written and performed by Indigenous artists — a rare experience of Canadian history written through an Indigenous perspectiv­e. The Justice, Peace and Social Action Committee invites everyone to watch this film, share beverages and great cookies and discuss your “truth learnings” and feelings following the film.

• Knitting into the Mystery of Healing will be offered over six Thursdays, April 5

to May 10, from 7-9 p.m. at Martha Retreat Centre. Knitting a prayer shawl in a group is a delightful way to be present to others in prayer and socializin­g.
