Canes have eighth pick in bantam draft

The Lethbridge Hurricanes will pick eighth in this year’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

The league held its annual WHL Bantam Draft Lottery Wednesday in Calgary to determine the pick selections for the six non-playoff teams.

Edmonton Oil Kings retained the first overall pick, but the Kootenay Ice were also winners, moving up two positions to the second selection.

The Prince Albert Raiders (from Prince George) will pick third. Calgary, Kamloops and Saskatoon round out the top six.
