City man facing possible voyeurism, child porn charges
A man suspected of voyeurism was arrested on scene at the University of Lethbridge's Centre for Sport and Wellness on Thursday.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit allege an 18-year-old male was filming inside the pool’s change room while it was being used by a youth swim club, with swimmers ranging from five to 18 years of age.
ICE was made aware of suspicious behaviour through pool staff members and the university’s Security Services.
The suspect, who has not been named, was held in custody and was expected to make his first court appearance on Friday afternoon.
A search warrant for the suspect’s residence was executed early Friday morning as part of the investigation. Lethbridge Police Service aided in the search and a number of computers and other electronics were seized for forensic examination.
Currently ICE investigators are suggesting the male be charged with voyeurism, possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and making child pornography.
