• The Arts and Culture Committee will host a Pop-Up Art Shop at the Gem of the West Museum in Coaldale continuing

March 24–25. Admission fees apply (free to annual pass holders). • Lethbridge Children’s Benefit Gala, presented by Woods Homes, Lethbridge, will take place March 24 at 6 p.m. at the Coast Hotel Lethbridge. The 14th annual semi-formal event is held in support of the Woods Homes emergency youth shelter, The CORE. This year’s gala features Disney’s popular fairytale “The Little Mermaid.” The evening includes an amazing meal, silent and live auctions and entertainm­ent by the Chevelles and St. Francis Junior High School. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with live performanc­es by the Legion pipe band and other musical guests beginning at 8 p.m. A dance with live music played by Cabot’s Crossing begins at 9 p.m. There will be a cash bar, 50-50 draw, silent auction, door prize and a light lunch provided. place March 24 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in LSCO parking lot, 500 11 St. S. Free shredding of personal documents. There is a limit of six boxes of personal documents per household and all materials are shredded on-site. Donations for the food bank will be accepted. • Lethbridge Public Library will host a BookShare/BookSwap March 24 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in Kids’ Corner at the Main Branch. Dress up as your favourite storybook character. Local children’s authors Dorothy Graham and Ginger Lee Malacko will share readings from their books. Popcorn and lemon water will be served. To participat­e in the book swap, bring your own children’s books to drop off, and take a gently used one (or two) home. This event is suitable for children of all ages. Sunday, June 24 inclusive. The tour will cover the Doukhobor Village and Museum in Castlegar, Slocan Valley, New Denver, Sandon, and Kaslo ... all in the West Kootenays. This is a guided study tour and participan­ts will learn a great deal about the internment era during World War Two.
