KidSport hosting global leadership webcast

EVENT WILL BE WORLD’S LARGEST

- Nick Kuhl LETHBRIDGE HERALD nkuhl@lethbridgeherald.com

Some of the world’s foremost experts in leadership are coming to Lethbridge. Via a shared webcast, that is. On May 4, Lethbridge Taber KidSport will be a host site for the world’s largest one-day leadership event, as Leadercast Live will be simulcast live from Atlanta to 20 countries and hundreds of locations around the globe.

In 2016, KidSport Lethbridge Taber retained the sole rights to host this event in Lethbridge. It also acts as a fundraising event for the local KidSport organization with all proceeds going to KidSport.

“Our goal is to continue to raise more funds because what we’re finding is that there is an everincreasing number of kids who want to play sports who aren’t,” said Malcolm Kano, chair of Lethbridge Taber KidSport, during a Thursday announcement at Lethbridge College.

“That’s why we host events like Leadercast. We think there is a great opportunity to people locally to not have to travel to hear some of the best speakers in the world on leadership.”

This year marks the 18th year of the annual leadership conference, and the third year that KidSport Lethbridge Taber will be hosting the event at Lethbridge College.

The theme of this year’s conference is, “Lead Yourself.” Leadercast Live is designed to allow viewers to improve their own personal leadership journey with tips for self-evaluation and self-growth.

Among the leadership experts speaking this year are: Mae Jemison, NASA Astronaut; Ian Cron, best-selling author and psychotherapist; Andy Stanley, author; Jim Loehr, co-founder of the Human Performance Institute; Jen Bricker, acrobat, aerialist, author and speaker; Michael Hyatt, author, speaker and CEO of Michael Hyatt & Company; Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 pilot; Kat Cole, COO and President, North America of FOCUS Brands; and Joe Torre, Hall of Fame baseball manager.
