Different approach needed to reduce abortions

Re: the pro-life/pro-choice debate, it is not surprising that the “free speech” argument is being used by social conservatives to protest the removal of the bus stop “anti-abortion” advertising in Lethbridge and the implementation of safe zones around abortion clinics. There are ways for less abortions to be done, which, sadly, are possibly not supported as vigorously as could be, by many in the social conservative community.

To quote Michael Coren in his recent article, less abortions can be accomplished by: “making contraceptives readily available, insisting on modern sex education in schools, reducing poverty, funding public daycare, and by empowering women more generally.” Perhaps this is where the advertising thrust should be. a few days ago, we only need to look to the countries in the world with the lowest abortion rates. An excellent reference to Switzerland is mentioned there, and it is known also that in others of these countries with more progressive social democrat characteristics, that even The Netherlands has boasted some of the lowest teen pregnancy rates in the world ... well worth considering other ways to do less abortions as a means to an end.
