• “Wings Over Canada,” a slide show featuring birds from coast to coast, will be presented June 13 at 7 p.m. at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. The presentati­on is by Canmore residents Jacinthe Lavoie and Ian Wilson, who spent five months travelling across Canada, photograph­ing birds along the way. The bird photos are set to classical music. Free admission; donations will be accepted.

• Prairie Tractor and Engine Museum Society holds a directors’ meeting the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Kleeman Building at the Pioneer Village of Coyote Flats on Prairie Tractor property (1.5 km south of Picture Butte High School on Highway 843). An open discussion session immediatel­y follows the meeting. Visitors are welcome.

• Alzheimer Society Magrath Caregiver Support Group meets second Wednesday of each month from 1:30-3 p.m. at Garden Vista, 37E 2 Ave. N. in Magrath.

• Galt Museum’s Café Galt lecture program for adults and seniors continues

June 14 from 7-8:30 p.m., featuring “Historic Theatre Walking Tour.” Dawn Leite from the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge will lead an informativ­e walking tour that explores the history of theatre in downtown Lethbridge. Registrati­on not required; museum admission applies (free to annual passholder­s).

• Blankets for Canada Lethbridge meets Thursdays from 10 a.m.-noon at the west entrance of Southminst­er United Church (11 Street and 4 Avenue). We are in need of more volunteers. Donations of yarn or financial donations are greatly appreciate­d, also eight- or nine-inch squares as well as strips 70 inches long, knitted or crocheted. • Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch No. 4 hosts cribbage every Thursday with a start time of 6:45 p.m. Don’t be late; come out and play.

• The Coaldale United Church Thrift

Shop (2022 18 St.) is open Thursdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. as a service to the community. Most clothing and shoes at $2. Household items very reasonably priced — Christmas decoration­s, bedding, tablecloth­s, curtains, kitchen items, books, fine china, jewelry and more. Cash only. Come and browse.

• Family Centre presents Me and My Family, a drop-in program designed for working parents to spend time playing and connecting with their children before heading home for the evening. For all families with children ages 0-8 years. Explore a wide range of activities that will encourage children’s physical activity, imaginatio­n and creativity. Takes place Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m., until June 28 at Family Centre, Downtown, #225, 200 4 Ave. S. (in Lethbridge Centre).

• Are you interested in writing? The River Bottom Writers invite you to join them the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:45 p.m. in the Richardson Oilseed Room at Lethbridge College for a session of informal writing practice. All genre writers are welcome. Bring pen, paper or laptop.

• The Rehoboth Sunshine Auxiliary of Rehoboth Christian Ministries will host their Annual Pork Roast June 15 at the Vocational Centre in Coaldale (1 km north of Coaldale on Hwy. 845). This is a come-and-go supper served from 5–7 p.m. Supper will include roast pork, roast beef, potatoes, salads and dessert. Cost is by donation. Call 403-345-5199 for more informatio­n.

• Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre will host a Father’s Day Luncheon and Fun Pie Auction June 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the centre, 1904 13 Ave. N. Cost: $13 per person. • Lasagna and Live Music will be featured June 15, with two events taking place the same evening at the Barons Community Hall, 209 Noble Street in Barons. Robbin’s Homemade Lasagna Dinner goes from 5-6:30 p.m., also featuring a silent auction and photo booth. $10 per person (children under 6 free). Takeout is available. The event is a fundraiser for Barons Memorial United Church. “Wingin’ It” takes place from 710 p.m., featuring the duo of singer/songwriter Lori Davidson and keyboardis­t/composer Rob Lamonica, who hail from Mazatlan, Mexico. $15 per adult, under 18 free. Bar will be open for refreshmen­ts. Event is a fundraiser for the Barons and District Ag Society. Special combo price for both events: $20 per adult. • The 18th annual Willow Creek Cowboy Gathering will take place June 15-17 at the Stavely Arena. Live western entertainm­ent Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. followed by campfire jam sessions. Sunday: breakfast from 8:30-10 a.m. ($8 per person); cowboy church at 10 a.m. (no charge). Concession on site (9 a.m.-8 p.m.) with homestyle suppers. • The #RoadtotheG­ames Equipment Drive will kick off June 16 in Lethbridge, taking place from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Centre Village Mall Save On Foods (1240 2 “A” Ave. N.) Rosenau Transport has teamed up with KidSport and Alberta Sport Connection to bring sports equipment to kids across the province. The event aims to fill a 53-foot Rosenau Transport trailer with new and gently used sports equipment to be distribute­d by Comrie’s Sport Equipment Bank. Cash donations will also be accepted. There will be a barbecue lunch for participan­ts.

• Helen Schuler Nature Centre’s Junior Naturalist­s program for ages 6-10 continues June 16 from 10 a.m.-noon, featuring “Sunlight.” Adults must sign children in and pick them up promptly at noon. For details, call 403-320-3064.

• London Road Annual Family Fair will be held June 16 from 1-4 p.m. in Kinsmen Park (11 Street 9 Avenue South). Free family fun for all the family. Art Exhibit will take place June 16 at the Galt Museum from 6-9 p.m. A night of food, drinks and discoverin­g artwork in support of families who are struggling to make ends meet as their child battles cancer. Featuring performanc­es by Gymfinity Cirque & Aerial Arts Troupe, who will be performing aerial acts of trapeze, silks, lyra and hammock.
