LAST CHANCE CAT RANCH – SALE EVENT VOLUNTEERS The Last Chance Cat Ranch has a variety of volunteer opportunit­ies related to their garage and bake sales. Duties may include: set up and take down, engaging with customers in a friendly manner, sales (handling money, taking inventory and recording sales), receiving donations (money or goods) and monitoring the area. OPAKAA’SIN EARLY INTERVENTI­ON SOCIETY – CULTURAL/LANGUAGE SUMMER CAMP ASSISTANTS The Opakaa’sin Early Interventi­on Society is looking for volunteer assistance with their summer cultural camps. Volunteers are required for set up/clean up, assisting with snack preparatio­n, supervisio­n of children, assist with field trips and other daily planned activities. CANADIAN BLOOD SERVICES – IN-CLINIC VOLUNTEERS Canadian Blood Services has a volunteer opportunit­y at their blood donor clinic located at Lethbridge Centre (220, 200 4 Ave. S.). The location is wheelchair and transit accessible. They require volunteers who will provide donors with great customer service, a welcoming environmen­t and provide updates on programs within Canadian Blood Services, after their blood donation. GREEN ACRES FOUNDATION ALBERTA ROSE LODGE – GAMES & CRAFTS VOLUNTEERS The Alberta Rose Lodge is looking for individual­s to come and play games or do crafts with seniors in their lodge. Games may include card games, board games, bingo, bean bags, lawn bowling, etc. Crafts should be simple but engaging. Painting and card making would be fun, too. GOOD SAMARITAN PARK MEADOWS – GLAMOUR GALS VOLUNTEERS Everyone likes to look and feel good. The Good Samaritan Park Meadows Glamour Girls program is for the resident to enjoy pampering, manicures, makeup and hair. If you have an interest and enjoy making others feel good about themselves, this is the volunteer role for you! Training and orientatio­n is offered for the program to ensure all policy and procedures and health guidelines are followed. SOUTHERN ALBERTA ART GALLERY – PATIO GREETERS Summer in Lethbridge means Patio @ SAAG, which happens every Wednesday from July 4 to Sept. 5. A few tables are set up out front of the SAAG and they offer compliment­ary coffee and lemonade to guests and passersby. Volunteers will need to be available at 10:45 a.m. to help set up, and stay until 2:15 p.m. for take down. Then, all you need to do is sit outside, greet people, and help them with refreshmen­ts should they require assistance. VOLUNTEER LETHBRIDGE – PROJECT PAINTBRUSH VOLUNTEERS Volunteer Opportunit­y with Project Paintbrush! This program engages corporate, employee and individual community members to work together in completing outdoor painting projects for seniors and persons with disabiliti­es. Little to no painting skills are required as a demonstrat­ion will be provided. It is a great opportunit­y to work in a team, learn how to paint exterior homes, make new friendship­s, spend time outside and make a difference in the life of someone in need. LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATI­ON – FOOD PREP VOLUNTEER LSCO has an opening for Food Prep Volunteers on Thursday or Friday mornings! This team helps chop, mix and prepare food for nutritious meals served in the dining room. Volunteers also portion out the day’s Meals on Wheels packages. You’ll be doing things like chopping up onions, carrots and celery, peeling potatoes, pressing potatoes through the french fry press, making toast, etc. No cooking experience is needed, but some basic knife skills would be helpful. ALLIED ARTS COUNCIL OF LETHBRIDGE – RENOVATION LABOURERS The Allied Arts Council is expanding their office space and are looking for volunteers to assist with renovating. They are in the process of demolishin­g four walls, removing flooring and cleaning the space in advance of new work. Their rebuild will consist of installing new flooring, doors, trim, baseboards, painting and moving furniture and boxes from their old office. The volunteer work will be held at 324 7 St. S. They are keeping shifts from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to accommodat­e the other businesses in the building, however, depending on the work, daytime may be available.
