• Shakespeare in the Park 2018 season of “The Tempest” continues with performances every Thursday and
Friday until Aug. 10 (except July 13 ) at 7 p.m. in Galt Gardens amphitheatre. Director Dj Gellatly has set the magical world of the Tempest in the future, on a distant planet (think “Shakespeare meets Star Trek!”). Performances are free, but donations after the show are gratefully received. Vintage Food Van on site from Stoketown Cafe. Come and enjoy the wonders of Shakespeare in a beautiful outdoor setting. • This summer, improve the skills you need every day and for future postsecondary classes. Lethbridge Public Library’s Read On Adult Literacy program offers ESL Conversation, Basic Computer, and Citizenship Preparation classes or one-on-one tutoring for adults. • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization offers Beginner Pickleball Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3-4:50 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. A few paddles are available for use. Purchase monthly or day passes at the Administration Desk prior to playing. Fee: $15 for LSCO members, $30 for nonmembers. Drop-in: $2.50 for LSCO members, $3.50 for non-members.
• Carriage House Theatre in Cardston will present its lineup of alternating summer shows, running until Aug. 22. The lineup of musicals includes: “Oklahoma,” directed by Bill Simon; “Forever Plaid,” directed by Bill Simon; “Newsies,” directed by Sheila Hague; and “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” directed by Rachelle Robinson. • Growing Abilities is a parent support and play group for children with differing abilities. It is open to parents/caregivers and their children with disabilities, as well as siblings and support staff. There will be planned activities based on children’s developmental needs, abilities and interests. There will also be open-ended activities for siblings and space for parents to connect. This group will be facilitated by an Early Childhood Educator and a Parent Educator, so oneon-one support is not available to children. • Taber Communities in Bloom will hold the second annual Taber Yard and Garden Tour July 7 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Take a self-guided tour and enjoy a delicious lunch at Luigi’s at your leisure. • Coyote Flats Pioneer Village Car
Show will be held July 7 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (1.8 km south of Picture Butte on Hwy. 843). Featuring Driver’s Choice and People’s Choice awards and other giveaways.
