• Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 18 St.) will hold a special opening for Settler Days on July 7 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Come and browse. Almost all clothing $2 (less small children’s items). Household miscellane­ous at reasonable prices. Cash only.

• Taber Communitie­s in Bloom will hold the second annual Taber Yard and Garden Tour July 7 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Take a self-guided tour and enjoy a delicious lunch at Luigi’s at your leisure. Lunch tickets will be honoured until closing on July 7. Tickets are $15 (includes lunch at Luigi’s) and can be purchased at Luigi’s, Pharmasave, Johnson’s or Home Hardware.

• Coyote Flats Pioneer Village Car Show will be held July 7 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (1.8 km south of Picture Butte on Hwy. 843). Featuring Driver’s Choice and People’s Choice awards and other giveaways. Awards presented at 3 p.m. Arrive early for breakfast, stay for lunch. Explore the river-bottom mine site. • West Wind Gymnastics Club offers drop-in fun on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. It’s a great opportunit­y to practise your gymnastic skills in a friendly, supervised environmen­t. Age 5 and under $6 and must be accompanie­d by an adult; 6 and older $12.

• Galt Museum’s Indigenous History Program takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, exploring Indigenous history through story-telling and hands-on activities. Individual­s and groups are welcome to attend. No registrati­on required. Admission fees apply (free to annual pass holders).

• Galt Museum’s Summer Family Fun hands-on history program for families

takes place July 10 from 1-3 p.m., featuring “Flip Book Animation.” Try your hand at some flip book animation while learning a bit about the history of this technique. Children to attend with adults; registrati­on not required. Museum admission applies (free to annual pass holders).

• Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on offers Beginner Pickleball Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3-4:50 p.m. at the LSCO, 500 11 St. S. A few paddles are available for use. Purchase monthly or day passes at the Administra­tion Desk prior to playing. Fee: $15 for LSCO members, $30 for non-members. Drop-in: $2.50 for LSCO members, $3.50 for nonmembers.

• The courtroom drama “12 Angry Men” will be staged July 10-14 at the Empress Theatre in Fort Macleod. The show features performanc­es at 7 p.m. July 10-14, in addition to a 1 p.m. matinee July 14. • Carriage House Theatre in Cardston will present its lineup of alternatin­g summer shows, running until Aug. 22. • The Annual Bon Odori Japanese Summer Dance Festival sponsored by the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta (BTSA) will be held July 14 starting at 6 p.m. in Galt Gardens. This festive and colourful event is a joyous memorial through music, dancing and drumming and features the Nikkei Cultural Society (NCS) Taiko group. Enjoy a variety of Japanese food, snacks and pop provided by local restaurant­s, cooling sno-cones, and sales of Japanese festival dress-ware, crafts and specialty items. Everyone is welcome to just watch or join hundreds of participan­ts in the simple Japanese folk dances. No experience necessary.

• “Splash Canyon - God’s Promise on Life’s Wild Ride” Vacation Bible School

• Heritage Acres Farm Museum just north of Pincher Creek will host a Quilt and Flower Show July 21 from 1-5 p.m. Cost of entry is $5 per person. A tea is included. First 75 quilts will be accepted
