MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

Mew invites you to stop by our table at the Centre Village Mall today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet our wonderful volunteers, see what amazing crafts and art they have for sale and get up to date information about what we are doing. We are at triple capacity right now and having a tough time dealing with daily requests to take in more cats and kittens. Without more financial support, foster homes and volunteers to help more cats, we are left in a very poor position. So many cats are being abandoned and are in need of help. If our supporters on Facebook, of which there are over 6,500, would donate $10, forego a Starbucks or Timmies for a day, we could pay down our $34,000 in vet bills and have a solid footing to help more cats that are homeless, starving, sick and depressed. Please visit us at www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch or

www.thelastchancecatranch.com. Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts.

Prince Adam is a large, strikingly handsome black cat, born in April 2016. He came to the Humane Society in the spring 2017 as a stray. Prince Adam is very comfortable with people, however, and gets along well with most of the cats at the Humane Society. He’s active and playful, and lots of fun! Prince Adam is quite independent, and would likely do well as an only pet, but he might like a roommate, too. If you are interested in meeting Prince Adam, you can visit him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to

How are decisions made? Millicent can tell you. Sometimes, they are made without the facts. This allblack lady was adopted as a kitten in 2005, but returned this year. That decision was made because, it was said, Millicent had become withdrawn. PAW decided to take Millicent back — that decision was made because of loyalty: once a PAW cat, always a PAW cat. At the time, Millicent had a urinary tract infection. That’s enough to make anyone shun company. Soon she was completely healthy, and decided to give people a second chance. In her new foster home, she remembered that she liked cuddling and petting. She also thought a track-ball was the best invention! And the other cat in her home? Well, Millicent is still deciding about him… You see, at 13, Millicent is old enough to make her own decisions, but young enough to benefit from yours — and the best one you could make is to give this beautiful cat a permanent, loving home. To meet her, call PAW at 403-328-6700 or send an online inquiry at www.pawsociety.com. That’s a decision you won’t regret! Today, July 21, PAW is at the Community Booth at the Farmers’ Market. Stop by and see our selection of cat-themed giftware.

Stevie is a five-week-old kitten who was found at the dump by a kind man. She was dehydrated and suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Another wonderful person took her to the vet where she received fluids and was put on an antibiotic. It was also discovered that her eyes are sunken and underdeveloped which means that Stevie is most likely blind or has very limited vision. Despite everything this sweet baby has a good appetite and is learning to play. She is definitely a little trooper. Purrfect Endings Rescue takes in many animals with special needs. Our bill at Green Acres Animal Hospital is huge and we are always in great need of donations. No amount is too small. Please call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) for more information. We are also on Facebook. Thank you so much to those individuals who have donated.

Tracker is a mellow eight-year-old. Tracker gets along people of all ages, other dogs and is a laid-back guy. He’s quiet in the house, can be trusted to be loose and is housetrained. He’s not great off leash, he is interested in little critters like ground squirrels and bunnies. We couldn’t let him off leash to swim in the lake but he is a big fan of water. He will play with other dogs, but he’s pretty lazy. We also have not discovered a toy he’ll play with but we also haven’t found a treat he’ll refuse. He is content to lay on the floor or his bed. He doesn’t jump up on people and is very patient with kids. He does enjoy chasing cats so would be best in a home without them. Visit

www.windycityrescue.com for more information or call 403-359-3139. Adoption fees apply and application forms must be filled out.
