• The Lethbridge Public Library invites the public to participate in the grand reopening of the renovated north wing of the Main Branch downtown July 26. Celebration activities include: 10 a.m. Storytelling and craft; 11 a.m. Blackfoot naming ceremony and official ribbon cutting; 1 p.m. Blackfoot drumming and dancing; 3 p.m. Lethbridge Buskers Association; 6:30 p.m. CKXU Vinyl Collection broadcast.
• Shakespeare in the Park 2018 season of “The Tempest” continues with performances every Thursday and
Friday until Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. in Galt Gardens amphitheatre. Director DJ Gellatly has set the magical world of the Tempest in the future, on a distant planet (think “Shakespeare meets Star Trek!”). Performances are free, but donations after the show are gratefully received. Vintage Food Van on site from Stoketown Cafe. Come and enjoy the wonders of Shakespeare in a beautiful outdoor setting. • Are you interested in writing? The River Bottom Writers invite you to join them the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:45 p.m. in the Richardson Oilseed Room at Lethbridge College for a session of informal writing practice. • Growing Abilities is a parent support and play group for children with differing abilities. It is open to parents/caregivers and their children with disabilities, as well as siblings and support staff. There will be planned activities based on children’s developmental needs, abilities and interests. There will also be open-ended activities for siblings and space for parents to connect. This group will be facilitated by an Early Childhood Educator and a Parent Educator, so one-on-one
support is not available to children. Give it a try at Family Centre Downtown on

The event will feature specially dressed hotdogs from each of Lethbridge’s “sister cities.” Citizens can show their support for the Lethbridge Twinning Society by purchasing a hotdog and drink. Try “Wild West Dog” from Great Falls, Montana (chili and wild-west barbecue sauce); the “Culver Dog” from Culver City, California (avocado and alpha sprouts); the “Russian Dog” from Timashvesk, Russia (dill pickle and sour cream) or the “Towada Dog” from Towada City, Japan (sprinkled, dried seaweed, teriyaki sauce with optional wasabi!).
