LSC seeks Games Chair

Lethbridge Sport Council Selection Committee is seeking a qualified volunteer to fill the position of Games Chair for the Lethbridge 2020 Alberta Summer Games Society.

The Selection Committee is looking for an energetic, knowledgea­ble volunteer with significan­t leadership and organizati­onal skills who believes in the benefits and developmen­t of community sport.

The LSC Selection Committee will make a recommenda­tion to the mayor and city council who will appoint the Games Chair. The Games Chair, together with the LSC Selection Committee, will select a 14- to 16-member board of directors.

The Alberta Summer Games leads the developmen­t of amateur grassroots sports on a provincial level for athletes ages 11-17. The four-day, 14-sport competitio­n will take place July 2020 throughout Lethbridge. The Games involve 3,500 athletes, coaches and technical officials and 2,000 volunteers including 75 leadership volunteers.

Applicants should include a cover letter with a brief overview as to why you should be chosen along with a resume listing attributes and experience related to the position.
