Claresholm Fair Days continue

Claresholm Fair Days are underway with the annual community festival set to run through this weekend.

Today’s lineup of events include a lunch charity barbecue, steak supper, test and tune by the RockyMount­ain Drift Club, a family movie night at the Aquatic Centre, as well as the start of the weekend slo-pitch tournament.

The annual Bench Show, which is being held this year at the Claresholm Community Centre with the town’s arena currently undergoing renovation­s, is accepting entries today from9-11 a.m., including items such as arts, crafts, baked goods and garden produce. The show itself opens at 6 p.m. featuring a pet show at 7 p.m.

Saturday’smain events include the parade and third annual 49th Avenue Street Festival.

The day starts with two separate pancake breakfasts, as well as a beef-on-a-bun lunch, tea at themuseum, all ages pickup slo-pitch and an evening coffee house. The RockyMount­ain Drift Club will be hosting events in town and at the airport.

The weekend wraps on Sunday with another pancake breakfast, an interdenom­inational service at the community centre and the Porcupine Hills Classic Cruisers hosting a show and shine at Centennial Park.
