Proceeds will be donated to United Way. • LSCO Whoop-Up Days Pulled Pork Sandwich event will take place Aug. 24 with lunch from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. $5.50 a plate. • A Whoop-Up Dance Party will be held Aug. 24 from 7:30-11 p.m. at the Lethbridge Legion Hall, featuring a double bandstand with music by Fay Stevens and Ray Sauer. • Interfaith Food Bank will present a new program, “The Gardener and the Chef,” Aug. 24, Aug. 30 and Sept. 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the Interfaith Learning Garden at 1103 3 Ave. N. Learn how to grow plants on a budget and then cook your harvest into delicious, inexpensiv­e meals. Attendance is free; donations gratefully accepted. • Growing Abilities is a parent support and play group for children with differing abilities. It is open to parents/caregivers and their children with disabiliti­es, as well as siblings and support staff. There will be planned activities based on children’s developmen­tal needs, abilities and interests. There will also be open-ended activities for siblings and space for parents to connect. This group will be facilitate­d by an Early Childhood Educator and a Parent Educator, so oneon-one support is not available to children. Donations of books can be dropped off from Tuesday to Thursday of that week during sale hours. • The 10th annual Care For Kids Golf Tournament, sponsored by Canadian Tire in support of Lethbridge Food Bank, will be held Aug. 29 at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort.
