EDL to bring back Ignite YQL Oct. 24

EVENT HAS BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL PHENOMENON

-

Economic Development Lethbridge is bringing back their event Ignite YQL for another evening where a diverse group of community members deliver lightning-fast pitches on a range of exciting and inspirational topics.

Economic Development Lethbridge, with the support of RBC, is re-igniting the passion in the community with quick presentations intended to challenge the presenter and inspire the audience. The presenters get 20 slides, which automatically advance every 15 seconds, resulting in a fast and fun presentation which lasts just five minutes.

Ignite started 10 years ago and has become an international phenomenon with more than 350 locations around the world. Ignite’s mission is for everyone to speak, and they believe that public speaking builds confidence in individuals, and that events like Ignite help build the community.

“While economic development typically focuses on attracting businesses or supporting entrepreneurship, at EDL we also believe in building community and engaging with people who are passionate about Lethbridge,” says EDL CEO Trevor Lewington, in a press release. “We were so impressed with the quality and diversity of topics at last year’s event and we look forward to seeing how this year’s group of presenters meet the challenge of delivering a concise message and engaging the audience in a new way.”

EDL is currently accepting online applications to present their reigniting presentations.

Through the application process, eight to 10 speakers will be selected to participate in this Ignite YQL 2018, at the Enmax Centre Canadian Western Bank Lounge on Oct. 24.
