• The Iron Springs seventh annual

Parade and Barbecue will take place Sept. 8 in the hamlet along Hwy. 25 between Picture Butte and Turin. Events begin at 4 p.m. with the parade lineup between 3:30 and 4 p.m. The parade is at 6 p.m. with the barbecue ($5 cost) at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks (if no fire ban in effect) at 9:30 p.m. Events include bouncy castle, horseshoes, tug-of-war, bonfires (if no fire ban) and a homemade pie-baking contest with prizes.

• An Usborne Book sale will take place Sept. 8 as part of the weekly Farmers’ Market at Exhibition Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. • The 2018 Lethbridge Walk for ALS will take place Sept. 8 in Lethbridge at the Horseshoe Picnic Area in Henderson Lake Park, to raise money and awareness for the ALS Society of Alberta. • Galt Museum’s Indigenous History Program takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, exploring Indigenous history through story-telling and hands-on activities. Trigeminal neuralgia is a neuropathi­c disorder characteri­zed by episodes of intense pain in the face, originatin­g from the trigeminal nerve. Compassion­ate Communicat­ion is a process of interperso­nal communicat­ion designed to improve connection. Due to its farreachin­g impact it has also been interprete­d as a spiritual practice, a set of values, a parenting technique, a method of social change, a mediation tool, an educationa­l orientatio­n, and a worldview. A facilitato­r will explain more, free of charge, from 11 a.m.-noon (followed by a potluck lunch). The workshop will run from 1-5 p.m. Cost is $50 (regular $85). • Do you like to sing? Men, young and older alike, are encouraged to join the Lethbridge Christian Men's Choir. The choir presents Christmas and spring concerts each year. Practices begin Sept.

Games will start at 10 a.m. and there will be 4 innings to each game. The length of the tournament is dependent on the number of teams registered. Admission cost for spectators is $5 per person (re-entry permitted). Concession will be open throughout the tournament and there will be 50/50 sold all day to be drawn at the end of the tournament. All proceeds raised will be donated to Lethbridge Special Olympics. • Heritage Acres Farm Museum will hold a Fall Fair Sept. 15 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the museum north and east of Pincher Creek and the Oldman Dam. Entrance is $10 per adult; kids 16 years and under get in free. It’s a fun day for the whole family starting with a $5 pancake breakfast running until 10:30. Exhibits and demonstrat­ions will run all day, including butter-making, kids’ activities, vendors and a food concession. There will once again be an Heirloom Handiwork Exhibit. Arthas is white and grey in colour and has blue eyes. Please call 403892-4156. • Simon, a medium-sized black, shorthair cat, went missing in the area of 7 Avenue and 19 Street South. He’s slim and sleek, and has a bell on his collar. He has a long tail disproport­ionate to the length of his body. He also pulls himself up using his front legs. If you see him, please call 647-523-6570. • Loki, a short-hair, chocolate-brown and white cat with yellow-green and slightly crossed eyes, has gone missing from his home in the Park Meadows area.
